Cookie policy
This cookie policy explains which cookies and similar techniques GoldexPay uses and why. We keep it minimal: no advertising cookies, only analytics cookies from Google Analytics 4.
What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Local storage (localStorage) is a similar technique: it lets a website save information in your browser, but unlike cookies, this information is not automatically sent to the server with every request.
Our approach
- We do not use advertising or tracking cookies for advertising purposes.
- We do not set session cookies on public pages.
- We use Google Analytics 4 to see how our website is used. It places the analytics cookies listed below. Advertising features are switched off.
Overview of cookies and storage items
| Name | Type | Provider | Purpose | Retention | Consent needed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Cookie | GoldexPay | Keeps staff logged in to the admin area (/admin only) | Session | No (functional) |
| CSRF cookie | Cookie | GoldexPay | Protects admin forms against forged requests (/admin only) | Session | No (functional) |
| _ga | Cookie | Google (Analytics 4) | Distinguishes unique visitors for statistics | 2 years | No (legitimate interest) |
| _ga_<ID> | Cookie | Google (Analytics 4) | Keeps track of session state for statistics | 2 years | No (legitimate interest) |
The session and CSRF cookies are only set for logged-in staff in the admin area. Regular visitors of the public pages will not receive them.
Analytics cookies
Google Analytics 4 places the _ga and _ga_<ID> cookies to recognise returning visitors and sessions. We use the resulting statistics to see how our website is used and where it can be improved. Advertising features and data sharing for advertising are switched off, and Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. More about how we process this data can be found in our privacy policy.
Clicks to providers
When you click a link to a provider, we log the click on our server (see our affiliate disclosure). We do not use cookies for this. Once you arrive at the provider's website, that provider – and possibly its affiliate network – may set its own cookies. Their cookie policies apply to those cookies.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies, including the analytics cookies, through your browser settings, and you can block Google Analytics with a browser extension or content blocker. This does not affect how the website works.
