ETH to EUR: what you are looking at
This overview follows the price relationship between Ethereum (ETH) and Euro (EUR) and compares it with the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. As of October 30, 2026, one ETH is worth 1,993.78 EUR, while 1 EUR comes to 0.00050156 ETH.
That headline number is the interbank mid rate. It sits exactly halfway between what wholesale traders pay for ETH and what they ask for it. Think of it as a fair reference point: nobody earns anything on it directly, which is exactly why few consumer services pass it on unchanged.
What ends up on the EUR side depends on two things: the gap between the provider’s rate and the mid-market rate and the visible transfer or service fee. Further down we take those costs apart, show how they add up on a real amount and list practical steps to lose less on the exchange when converting ETH to EUR.
The ETH/EUR rate over twelve months
Over the past twelve months, the exchange rate shows a change of -40.98%. Within those twelve months the top of the range was 3,391.91 EUR per ETH, while the bottom of the range was 1,353.89. Today’s rate of 1,993.78 can be measured against those two levels.
That range between high and low shows how much the rate can move in practice. For a bigger amount, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, even when the fee stays the same.
The rate reflects news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. The statistics here are historical, not a forecast. If timing matters to you, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.
Where the cost of converting ETH to EUR hides
Nearly every bank and app stay away from the rate of 1,993.78 itself. Instead they quote a slightly worse rate and pocket the gap. This is known as the spread. With a 2% markup, for instance, about 2 out of every 100 ETH never reach the recipient.
Next to that markup, a lot of services ask for a separate fee. It may be a fixed amount per transfer, a percentage of the amount or a mix of both. On classic bank transfers abroad other banks along the route may take their own cut, so the recipient gets less than you expected.
Be wary of anything sold as commission-free. The cost often sits in the rate instead. What really counts is the final EUR figure for exactly the same sum, and that is the figure our table ranks on.
Getting the most EUR for your ETH
Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive when the margin is high. What you want to know is the amount received, which combines the markup and the fee.
At foreign tills and cash machines, you can get a choice between your own currency and the local one. This is called dynamic currency conversion. It usually comes with a steep markup. Choose the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.
Timing can also matter. Rates quoted on a Saturday or Sunday can include a weekend surcharge. When there is no deadline, you can set a target rate and let the provider convert only when it is reached. It takes the guesswork out, though the target may never be reached.
The payment method matters as well. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, and a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer reduces what you pay in flat fees.
What to know about ETH/EUR on crypto platforms
With crypto, the price you pay depends heavily on where you trade. On an exchange with an order book, there is a gap between the buy and sell price, the spread, and a commission per trade. Easy buy buttons in apps usually quote a single price that has the cost baked in.
Withdrawing crypto from a platform, a network fee applies. That fee does not depend on the amount, so it weighs more on small transactions. Double-check the network before you send: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.
Volatility is much higher than with regular currencies. A quote is often only valid for a short moment, and on large orders the execution price can slip. Use the rate here as a guide, not as a binding quote.
Think about custody as well. Coins kept on an exchange are held by that exchange, while a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Check that a platform is registered or licensed with a financial regulator where you live.
Sending a larger amount from ETH to EUR
Make sure the provider is licensed. Look for authorisation from the FCA in the UK or the financial regulator in your own country. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own.
Verify every detail of the recipient. An international payment is hard to reverse once it is sent. Unexpected changes to payment details are a classic warning sign. Verify through a channel you trust.
Larger transfers often come with additional questions. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. Some services offer better rates or a personal contact for larger transfers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.
Why we compare total cost
We start from the live mid-market rate for ETH/EUR. We then apply each provider’s published fees and exchange rate margin, which gives the amount the recipient receives. The comparison covers 20 providers, ranked from most to least received.
Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 30, 2026. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, since markets keep moving, especially when markets are busy.
We are not owned by any provider. Some of the links are affiliate links, which help pay for the site. They have no influence on the order: the provider that delivers the most EUR comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.
What 0.5000 ETH gets you in EUR
Take a transfer of 0.5000 ETH. Using the reference rate of 1,993.78, that marks the theoretical maximum of what the recipient could get. No service pays out that exact figure, since the margin and fees are taken out along the way.
Looking at all 20 providers we track, Crypto.com gave the best result, with 995.65 EUR after all costs. The difference between that figure and the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.
Keep in mind that rankings shift with the amount you send. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, while a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Enter your own amount in the converter to see the ranking that applies to you.
