Converting Norwegian Krone into Singapore Dollar at a glance
This page brings together the exchange rate between Norwegian Krone (NOK) and Singapore Dollar (SGD), together with what real providers charge to convert one into the other. On October 30, 2026, 1 NOK equals 0.138512 SGD, while one SGD equals 7.2196 NOK.
That headline number is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It sits exactly halfway between what wholesale traders pay for NOK and what they ask for it. It works as the cleanest reference you can get: it contains no profit margin and no fees, and that is why few consumer services pass it on unchanged.
What ends up on the SGD side is shaped by two things: the gap between the provider’s rate and the mid-market rate and any fixed or percentage fee. In the sections below we show how those costs are built up, show how they add up on a real amount and give concrete ways to get closer to the mid-market rate when converting NOK to SGD.
About this comparison
Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, to calculate what actually arrives in SGD. We do this for 9 providers, placed side by side.
The figures refresh every half hour, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, since markets keep moving, especially when markets are busy.
No bank, app or exchange owns GoldexPay. Some of the links are affiliate links. That never changes the ranking: the provider that delivers the most SGD comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.
What banks and apps really charge for NOK to SGD
Most providers will not give you the rate of 0.138512 itself. Instead they quote a slightly worse rate and keep the difference. This is known as the markup. With a 2% markup, for instance, about 2 out of every 100 NOK never reach the recipient.
On top of the margin, a lot of services add a visible fee. That can be a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or both at once. On classic bank transfers abroad other banks along the route may take their own cut, which shrinks the amount that finally arrives.
Be wary of services that advertise free transfers. The cost often sits in the rate instead. What really counts is the total amount that arrives in SGD for exactly the same sum, which is how the table above is sorted.
Sending a larger amount from NOK to SGD
Only use providers that are regulated. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own.
Double-check the recipient details before you confirm. An international payment is hard to reverse once it is sent. Unexpected changes to payment details are a classic warning sign: confirm by phone using a number you already know.
For large amounts, expect extra checks. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. For big amounts it can pay to ask for a better rate. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.
Bank transfer or money transfer service for SGD?
Your regular bank usually sends the money through SWIFT. Along the way one or more intermediary banks may handle it, sometimes taking a fee at each step. Delivery usually takes one to several working days, and the exact cost is not always clear in advance.
Dedicated providers take another route. They have local accounts on both sides, so your NOK stays in the NOK system and the recipient is paid in SGD from a local account. That is often faster and cheaper, and you see exactly what will arrive before you confirm.
How fast a transfer really is depends on more than the provider: how you pay, the time of day, cut-off times and bank holidays in both countries. A first transfer can take longer as the provider completes its checks. Finish verification in advance if timing is tight.
Getting the most SGD for your NOK
Look at the final amount, not just the fee. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive when the margin is high. What you want to know is the SGD amount after every cost, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.
At foreign tills and cash machines, you may be asked whether to pay in NOK or in the local currency. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. It usually comes with a steep markup. Pick the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.
Timing can also matter. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. When there is no deadline, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. It saves you from checking the rate every day, though the target may never be reached.
The payment method matters as well. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, while funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Bundling smaller transfers means fixed charges hit you fewer times.
Where you pay with NOK and SGD
Norwegian Krone is the money you pay with in Norway. Singapore Dollar is the official currency of Singapore. Knowing this helps if you travel, shop online abroad or support someone in another country.
People convert NOK to SGD for many reasons: paying suppliers, supporting relatives, buying property or simply travelling. Each situation asks for something different: a one-off large payment calls for the best rate, whereas frequent smaller payments are more sensitive to fixed fees.
Each country has its own payment habits. Account formats differ: IBAN in one place, account and routing numbers in another and in certain countries mobile wallets or cash collection are widely used. Ask the recipient for the exact details in advance.
Sample calculation for 10,000.00 NOK
Consider an amount of 10,000.00 NOK. Using the reference rate of 0.138512, that sum sets the ceiling for what is possible on the SGD side. No service pays out that exact figure, as costs are deducted somewhere in the process.
Of the 9 providers we compared, Wise delivered the most and paid out 1,378.31 SGD after all costs. The difference between that figure and the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.
Note that a different amount can produce a different winner. A flat fee hurts most when the amount is small, while the margin in the rate becomes the bigger cost on larger transfers. Enter your own amount in the converter and check whether the order changes.
Norwegian Krone against Singapore Dollar: the last twelve months
Over the past twelve months, the NOK/SGD rate shows a change of +7.37%. Within those twelve months the top of the range was 0.138730 SGD for one NOK, while the bottom of the range was 0.126333. At 0.138512, the rate today can be measured against those two levels.
The spread between the year’s extremes is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. For a bigger amount, the moment you choose can make a noticeable difference to what arrives, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
Rates are pushed around by central bank policy, economic data and shifts in risk appetite. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If timing matters to you, a rate alert is a calmer option than trying to predict the market.
