Converting Thai Baht into Euro explained

This page tracks the rate for Thai Baht (THB) and Euro (EUR), together with what real providers charge to convert one into the other. At the latest update on October 31, 2026, one THB is worth 0.026535 EUR, and one EUR equals 37.6860 THB.

That headline number is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It is the midpoint between what wholesale traders pay for THB and what they ask for it. Think of it as the cleanest reference you can get: no fee or margin is built in, which is exactly why you rarely get it as a private customer.

What ends up on the EUR side depends on two things: a markup hidden in the exchange rate and the fee you see on the order screen. In the sections below we show how those costs are built up, put them side by side and give concrete ways to lose less on the exchange when you change THB into EUR.

Exchange rate markup and fees on THB/EUR

Nearly every bank and app will not give you the mid-market rate as such. Instead they shift the rate in their own favour and earn on the difference. This is known as the exchange rate margin. A markup of 2%, for example, means that about 2 out of every 100 THB never reach the recipient.

Besides the hidden margin, most banks charge an explicit fee. It may be a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or a mix of both. On classic bank transfers abroad other banks along the route may take their own cut, so the recipient gets less than you expected.

Look twice at anything sold as commission-free. The cost often sits in the rate instead. The only fair way to compare is the total amount that arrives in EUR for exactly the same sum, and the comparison table on this page is ranked on exactly that.

How THB to EUR transfers travel

A traditional bank sends your payment via the SWIFT system. The money can pass through one or more correspondent banks, each of which can deduct a charge. It typically arrives within a few working days, and the final deduction is often only visible afterwards.

Specialised transfer services often work differently. They hold balances in both currencies, which means your payment and the payout both happen domestically. The result tends to be quicker and less expensive, and the amount that arrives is known in advance.

Speed is not down to the provider alone: how you pay, the time of day, cut-off times and bank holidays in both countries. A first transfer can take longer as the provider completes its checks. Upload your documents early if timing is tight.

Paying less when you change THB into EUR

Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A low headline fee proves nothing because the margin can make up the difference. What you want to know is the amount received, which combines margin and fee.

When you pay by card abroad, you can get a choice between your own currency and the local one. This is called dynamic currency conversion. It usually comes with a steep markup. Choose the local currency and the conversion follows your card’s own terms.

Timing plays a role too. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. When there is no deadline, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. That avoids guessing, but the target may never be reached.

Also check how you fund the transfer. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, and funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Sending less often but in larger amounts means fixed charges hit you fewer times.

How GoldexPay compares THB to EUR providers

Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. We then apply each provider’s published fees and exchange rate margin, which gives the amount the recipient receives. We do this for 9 providers, placed side by side.

Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 31, 2026. The final price is always set by the provider itself, because their rate can move between our updates.

GoldexPay is independent. Some links on this page are affiliate links, which help fund our work. That never changes the ranking: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.

The THB/EUR rate over twelve months

Across the last year, the exchange rate has changed by -0.92%. In that period the top of the range was 0.027519 EUR per THB, and the lowest was 0.025935. The current 0.026535 can be measured against those two levels.

The distance between the high and the low shows how much the rate can move in practice. When you convert a substantial sum, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, even when the fee stays the same.

Exchange rates respond to central bank policy, economic data and shifts in risk appetite. These figures describe the past and say nothing about what comes next. If you are waiting for a particular level, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.

The countries behind THB and EUR

Thai Baht is the currency of Thailand. Euro is the official currency of Germany, France, Netherlands, Spain, Italy. Knowing this helps if you travel, shop online abroad or support someone in another country.

There are plenty of everyday reasons to convert THB to EUR: paying suppliers, supporting relatives, buying property or simply travelling. What suits one case may not suit another: a single big transfer benefits most from a sharp rate, whereas frequent smaller payments are more sensitive to fixed fees.

Payout methods vary from country to country. Some recipients expect a bank account number with a local bank code, others an IBAN and in certain countries mobile wallets or cash collection are widely used. Have the recipient’s full details ready before you begin.

Staying safe with bigger THB to EUR transfers

Only use providers that are regulated. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own.

Verify every detail of the recipient. An international payment is hard to reverse once it is sent. Unexpected changes to payment details are a classic warning sign. Call to confirm, using contact details you already had.

For large amounts, expect extra checks. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. Some also let you lock in a rate for a short period.

A worked example with 50,000.00 THB

Consider a transfer of 50,000.00 THB. Using the reference rate of 0.026535, you can work out the upper limit of what is possible on the EUR side. No service pays out that exact figure, as costs are deducted somewhere in the process.

Looking at all 9 providers we track, Wise gave the best result, with 1,320.38 EUR at the time of our last update. Whatever is missing compared with the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.

Note that a different amount can produce a different winner. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, whereas the margin in the rate becomes the bigger cost on larger transfers. Enter your own amount in the converter and check whether the order changes.
