XRP to Platinum: what you are looking at
This page tracks the exchange rate between XRP (XRP) and Platinum (XPT) and compares it with what real providers charge to convert one into the other. At the latest update on October 31, 2026, 1 XRP equals 0.00087181 XPT, while a single XPT equals 1,147.04 XRP.
The rate shown above is the interbank mid rate. It is calculated as the middle of what wholesale traders pay for XRP and what they ask for it. It works as the cleanest reference you can get: no fee or margin is built in, so consumers almost never receive it in full.
What ends up on the XPT side depends on two separate costs: a markup hidden in the exchange rate and the fee you see on the order screen. Below the converter and chart we take those costs apart, show how they add up on a real amount and list practical steps to keep more of your money when you change XRP into XPT.
How our XRP/XPT comparison works
Every calculation begins with the mid-market rate of 0.00087181. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, which gives the amount the recipient receives. We do this for 0 providers, placed side by side.
We update the rates every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 31, 2026. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, because their rate can move between our updates.
No bank, app or exchange owns GoldexPay. Some of the links are affiliate links. The order is never affected by them: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.
Troy ounces, spot price and premiums
Gold and silver prices are expressed per troy ounce, slightly heavier than a regular ounce, at around 31.1 grams. In currency notation, gold is XAU, silver XAG, platinum XPT and palladium XPD, so the metal behaves like one side of a currency pair. The figure above refers to one troy ounce.
What you see is the spot price: the price professionals pay for large quantities. Coins and small bars cost more than spot, because of manufacturing and dealer costs. Selling back typically happens below the spot price.
There are different ways to hold metal. Keeping coins or bars yourself means arranging storage and insurance. An allocated vault account comes with storage costs but takes care of security. Exchange-traded products give exposure to the price, not always to the metal itself.
Tax rules also differ. In the EU, investment gold is generally exempt from VAT, while silver usually is not. The information here is meant as background, not as advice.
Crypto spreads, network fees and custody
Crypto prices differ from platform to platform. On an exchange with an order book, you pay the difference between bid and ask, on top of a maker or taker fee. Easy buy buttons in apps usually quote a single price that has the cost baked in.
When you move crypto to or from your own wallet, there is a separate network charge. That fee does not depend on the amount, which makes small withdrawals relatively expensive. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.
Crypto prices can move sharply within minutes. Quoted prices tend to expire quickly, and big orders can fill at a worse price than shown. Treat the figure above as an indication.
Think about custody as well. On a platform, someone else manages the private keys, while a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Look for registration with a financial supervisor before you deposit.
Where the cost of converting XRP to XPT hides
The majority of services do not convert at the mid-market rate as such. Instead they quote a slightly worse rate and keep the difference. People call this the markup. A markup of 2%, for example, means that you lose roughly 2 XRP on every 100 XRP, without it ever appearing as a fee.
Next to that markup, most banks charge an explicit fee. It may be a flat charge per payment, a share of what you send or a mix of both. On classic bank transfers abroad extra deductions can follow, so the recipient gets less than you expected.
Take a close look at services that advertise free transfers. The cost often sits in the rate instead. The only fair way to compare is how much XPT the recipient ends up with for exactly the same sum, and that is the figure our table ranks on.
How XRP/XPT moved over the past year
Across the last year, the XRP/XPT rate has changed by +25.05%. During that year the top of the range was 0.00091575 XPT for one XRP, and the lowest was 0.00055798. Today’s rate of 0.00087181 is easy to place within that band.
The distance between the high and the low shows how much the rate can move in practice. On a large conversion, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, sometimes more than the choice of provider.
The rate reflects interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. The statistics here are historical, not a forecast. If you are waiting for a particular level, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.
Before you send: security and large amounts
Only use providers that are regulated. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own and that offers protection if the company fails.
Verify every detail of the recipient. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Unexpected changes to payment details are a classic warning sign. Verify through a channel you trust.
Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, like a statement or a sales contract. For big amounts it can pay to ask for a better rate. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.
Tips for converting XRP to XPT
Compare the total cost, not the fee alone. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive because the margin can make up the difference. The fairest figure to compare is how much XPT arrives for your XRP, and that already includes both margin and fee.
At foreign tills and cash machines, you may be asked whether to pay in XRP or in the local currency. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. The rate used is usually poor. Choose the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.
Timing can also matter. Rates quoted on a Saturday or Sunday can include a weekend surcharge. For transfers that can wait, a rate alert or limit order lets you convert automatically once XRP/XPT reaches a level you choose. It saves you from checking the rate every day, though there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
Finally, look at how you pay. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, while a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Sending less often but in larger amounts also cuts the impact of fixed fees.
