XRP to US Dollar: what you are looking at
This page brings together the exchange rate between XRP (XRP) and US Dollar (USD) and compares it with the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. At the latest update on October 30, 2026, one XRP is worth 1.2400 USD, and 1 USD equals 0.806452 XRP.
That headline number is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It is calculated as the middle of what wholesale traders pay for XRP and what they ask for it. It works as the cleanest reference you can get: no fee or margin is built in, and that is why you rarely get it as a private customer.
What you actually receive is shaped by two separate costs: the margin a provider adds to that rate and any fixed or percentage fee. In the sections below we explain how those costs work, put them side by side and share simple habits to lose less on the exchange when you swap XRP for US Dollar.
Exchange rate markup and fees on XRP/USD
Most providers do not convert at the mid-market rate as such. They quote a slightly worse rate and pocket the gap. People call this the exchange rate margin. If the margin is 2%, then for every 100 XRP you convert, about 2 XRP worth disappears before the money arrives.
On top of the margin, many providers ask for a separate fee. It may be a flat charge per payment, a share of what you send or both at once. For transfers sent through the banking network extra deductions can follow, so the recipient gets less than you expected.
Be wary of offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". The cost often sits in the rate instead. What really counts is the total amount that arrives in USD for exactly the same sum, and that is the figure our table ranks on.
Why we compare total cost
Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. Each provider’s published fee and markup are applied on top, and work out how much USD the recipient would end up with. We do this for 16 providers, so you can see the differences at a glance.
We update the rates every 30 minutes, with October 30, 2026 as the reference date. The final price is always set by the provider itself, because their rate can move between our updates, especially when markets are busy.

Tips for converting XRP to USD
Look at the final amount, not just the fee. A low headline fee proves nothing if the rate is poor. What you want to know is the amount received, which combines the markup and the fee.
At foreign tills and cash machines, you may be asked whether to pay in XRP or in the local currency. This is called dynamic currency conversion. It usually comes with a steep markup. Always opt to pay in the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.
Timing plays a role too. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. For transfers that can wait, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. It takes the guesswork out, though the target may never be reached.
Also check how you fund the transfer. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, and funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer also cuts the impact of fixed fees.
Staying safe with bigger XRP to USD transfers
Make sure the provider is licensed. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own.
Double-check the recipient details before you confirm. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details. Verify through a channel you trust.
Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. Some services offer better rates or a personal contact for larger transfers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.
Example: converting 1,000.00 XRP
Let’s use a transfer of 1,000.00 XRP. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (1.2400), that marks the theoretical maximum of what any provider could deliver in USD. In reality every provider keeps something, because margins and fees come off first.
Across the 16 providers in our comparison, Crypto.com came out cheapest for this amount, with 1,238.45 USD in the end. The gap between 1,238.45 USD and the theoretical maximum shows the true cost, fees and margin combined.
Keep in mind that a different amount can produce a different winner. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, while the margin in the rate becomes the bigger cost on larger transfers. Try your actual amount in the calculator above to see the ranking that applies to you.
Buying or selling crypto: XRP to USD
Crypto prices differ from platform to platform. On an exchange with an order book, you deal with a spread between the highest bid and the lowest ask, plus a trading fee. Simple broker apps often show one price with the margin already included.
If you withdraw coins to a wallet, there is a separate network charge. That fee does not depend on the amount, so it weighs more on small transactions. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.
Crypto prices can move sharply within minutes. Quoted prices tend to expire quickly, while large trades risk slippage. Use the rate here as a guide, not as a binding quote.
Think about custody as well. On a platform, someone else manages the private keys, whereas a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Use platforms that are registered with the regulator in your country.
How XRP/USD moved over the past year
Over the past twelve months, the XRP/USD rate moved by -51.37%. In that period the highest level was 2.5501 USD for one XRP, and the bottom of the range was 0.992707. Today’s rate of 1.2400 is easy to place within that band.
The spread between the year’s extremes is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. When you convert a substantial sum, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
Exchange rates respond to central bank policy, economic data and shifts in risk appetite. These figures describe the past and say nothing about what comes next. If timing matters to you, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.
