Canadian Dollar to Singapore Dollar explained
This page brings together the price relationship between Canadian Dollar (CAD) and Singapore Dollar (SGD) and compares it with what real providers charge to convert one into the other. As of October 31, 2026, one CAD is worth 0.915190 SGD, while a single SGD is worth 1.0927 CAD.
That headline number is the mid-market rate. It is calculated as the middle of the buying and selling prices on the wholesale market. Think of it as a fair reference point: nobody earns anything on it directly, and that is why consumers almost never receive it in full.
What you actually receive depends on two separate costs: the gap between the provider’s rate and the mid-market rate and any fixed or percentage fee. Further down we explain how those costs work, look at what a conversion costs in practice and give concrete ways to keep more of your money when converting CAD to SGD.
What banks and apps really charge for CAD to SGD
The majority of services do not convert at the mid-market rate as such. Instead they offer a rate that is a little less favourable and pocket the gap. People call this the exchange rate margin. A markup of 2%, for example, means that you lose roughly 2 CAD on every 100 CAD, without it ever appearing as a fee.
On top of the margin, many providers ask for a separate fee. That can be a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or both at once. With international bank payments the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, so the recipient gets less than you expected.
Look twice at offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". Free usually means the price is built into the exchange rate. The reliable test is how much SGD the recipient ends up with for exactly the same sum, which is how the table above is sorted.
Getting the most SGD for your CAD
Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive if the rate is poor. What you want to know is the SGD amount after every cost, which combines the markup and the fee.
If you pay or withdraw cash in a SGD country, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. The rate used is usually poor. Pick the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.
Timing can also matter. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. When there is no deadline, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. That avoids guessing, but there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
Also check how you fund the transfer. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, and funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer also cuts the impact of fixed fees.
How we rank providers for CAD to SGD
Every calculation begins with the mid-market rate of 0.915190. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, to calculate what actually arrives in SGD. We do this for 8 providers, so you can see the differences at a glance.
The figures refresh every half hour, so the page reflects the market of October 31, 2026. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, and it can differ slightly from our calculation.
GoldexPay is independent. Some of the links are affiliate links. They have no influence on the order: the provider that delivers the most SGD comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.
Larger transfers: what to check first
Make sure the provider is licensed. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Verify every detail of the recipient. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Unexpected changes to payment details are a classic warning sign: confirm by phone using a number you already know.
Larger transfers often come with additional questions. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. For big amounts it can pay to ask for a better rate. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.
SWIFT versus local payout for CAD to SGD
A traditional bank sends your payment via the SWIFT system. Your transfer may hop between several banks before it arrives, sometimes taking a fee at each step. Delivery usually takes one to several working days, and the final deduction is often only visible afterwards.
Specialised transfer services often work differently. They hold balances in both currencies, so no money physically crosses the border: you pay in locally and the recipient is paid out locally. This usually cuts both time and cost, and the amount that arrives is known in advance.
How fast a transfer really is depends on more than the provider: how you pay, the time of day, cut-off times and bank holidays in both countries. A first transfer can take longer while identity checks are done. Finish verification in advance when a deadline is involved.
1,000.00 CAD to SGD, step by step
Take an amount of 1,000.00 CAD. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (0.915190), you can work out the upper limit of what any provider could deliver in SGD. In practice nobody hands over that full amount, because margins and fees come off first.
Across the 8 providers in our comparison, Revolut gave the best result and paid out 910.61 SGD after all costs. Whatever is missing compared with the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.
Note that the cheapest provider for 1,000.00 CAD is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. A flat fee hurts most when the amount is small, while a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Enter your own amount in the converter to see the ranking that applies to you.
Where you pay with CAD and SGD
Canadian Dollar is used in Canada. Singapore Dollar is what people pay with in Singapore. That is useful to know for anyone who earns in one of these currencies and spends in the other.
People convert CAD to SGD for many reasons: moving abroad, studying, doing business or sending a gift. Each situation asks for something different: a single big transfer calls for the best rate, while frequent smaller payments suffer more from flat charges.
The way money is paid out also differs per country. Account formats differ: IBAN in one place, account and routing numbers in another, and in some places cash pickup or mobile money is common. Have the recipient’s full details ready before you begin.
One year of CAD to SGD
Over the past twelve months, the exchange rate shows a change of -1.37%. During that year the rate peaked at 0.943105 SGD per CAD, and the bottom of the range was 0.896221. The current 0.915190 sits somewhere inside that range.
That range between high and low shows how much the rate can move in practice. On a large conversion, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, sometimes more than the choice of provider.
The rate reflects news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If timing matters to you, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.
