The CHF/BRL exchange rate explained
This overview tracks the rate for Swiss Franc (CHF) and Brazilian Real (BRL) and sets it next to the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. As of October 31, 2026, one CHF is worth 6.5981 BRL, and one BRL equals 0.151559 CHF.
The figure at the top is the interbank mid rate. It sits exactly halfway between the buying and selling prices on the wholesale market. Treat it as a fair reference point: it contains no profit margin and no fees, so consumers almost never receive it in full.
What ends up on the BRL side is shaped by two things: the gap between the provider’s rate and the mid-market rate and the visible transfer or service fee. Further down we show how those costs are built up, put them side by side and share simple habits to lose less on the exchange when you swap Swiss Franc for Brazilian Real.
Before you send: security and large amounts
Only use providers that are regulated. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Check names and account details twice. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Unexpected changes to payment details are a classic warning sign. Verify through a channel you trust.
For large amounts, expect extra checks. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, such as a payslip, sale agreement or bank statement. Some services offer better rates or a personal contact for larger transfers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.
CHF and BRL around the world
Swiss Franc is the legal tender in Switzerland, Liechtenstein. Brazilian Real is the official currency of Brazil. Knowing this helps for anyone who earns in one of these currencies and spends in the other.
There are plenty of everyday reasons to convert CHF to BRL: moving abroad, studying, doing business or sending a gift. Not every situation needs the same solution: a one-off large payment benefits most from a sharp rate, while frequent smaller payments suffer more from flat charges.
Each country has its own payment habits. Depending on the country, you need an IBAN, a local account number or a mobile wallet, and in some places cash pickup or mobile money is common. Have the recipient’s full details ready before you begin.
Sample calculation for 1,000.00 CHF
Take an amount of 1,000.00 CHF. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (6.5981), that sum sets the ceiling for what the recipient could get. In reality every provider keeps something, since the margin and fees are taken out along the way.
Looking at all 9 providers we track, Wise delivered the most and paid out 6,565.94 BRL in the end. The gap between 6,565.94 BRL and the theoretical maximum shows the true cost, fees and margin combined.
Keep in mind that a different amount can produce a different winner. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, whereas a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Run your own figure through the converter and check whether the order changes.
Paying less when you change CHF into BRL
Compare the total cost, not the fee alone. A low headline fee proves nothing if the rate is poor. The fairest figure to compare is the BRL amount after every cost, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.
If you pay or withdraw cash in a BRL country, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. It usually comes with a steep markup. Always opt to pay in the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.
Timing can also matter. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. If you are not in a hurry, you can set a target rate and let the provider convert only when it is reached. It saves you from checking the rate every day, but there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
The payment method matters as well. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, while a plain bank transfer is normally the low-cost option. Bundling smaller transfers means fixed charges hit you fewer times.
Where the cost of converting CHF to BRL hides
Most providers will not give you the mid-market rate itself. Instead they shift the rate in their own favour and earn on the difference. That gap is called the exchange rate margin. With a 2% markup, for instance, for every 100 CHF you convert, about 2 CHF worth disappears before the money arrives.
Next to that markup, most banks ask for a separate fee. This is usually a flat charge per payment, a share of what you send or a mix of both. On classic bank transfers abroad extra deductions can follow, so the recipient gets less than you expected.
Be wary of anything sold as commission-free. The cost often sits in the rate instead. The reliable test is the total amount that arrives in BRL for an identical CHF amount, which is how the table above is sorted.
Choosing a route to send BRL
Your regular bank usually sends the money via the SWIFT system. Your transfer may hop between several banks before it arrives, sometimes taking a fee at each step. It typically arrives within a few working days, and the final deduction is often only visible afterwards.
Many money transfer apps use a different model. They hold balances in both currencies, which means your payment and the payout both happen domestically. This usually cuts both time and cost, and you see exactly what will arrive before you confirm.
Delivery time depends on several factors: your payment method, cut-off times and public holidays on either side. New customers sometimes wait a little longer as the provider completes its checks. Finish verification in advance if timing is tight.
How our CHF/BRL comparison works
Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. Each provider’s published fee and markup are applied on top, and work out how much BRL the recipient would end up with. The comparison covers 9 providers, so you can see the differences at a glance.
Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, with October 31, 2026 as the reference date. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, and it can differ slightly from our calculation.
No bank, app or exchange owns GoldexPay. Some links on this page are affiliate links, which help fund our work. That never changes the ranking: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.
Swiss Franc against Brazilian Real: the last twelve months
Compared with a year ago, the price of CHF in BRL shows a change of -1.44%. In that period the rate peaked at 7.0907 BRL for one CHF, while the low point came in at 5.9877. At 6.5981, the rate today can be measured against those two levels.
The distance between the high and the low puts the movement into real terms. On a large conversion, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
Exchange rates respond to central bank policy, economic data and shifts in risk appetite. The statistics here are historical, not a forecast. If you are waiting for a particular level, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.
