Swiss Franc to Mexican Peso: rate, costs and context

This page brings together the exchange rate between Swiss Franc (CHF) and Mexican Peso (MXN), together with what real providers charge to convert one into the other. As of October 30, 2026, one CHF is worth 22.8806 MXN, and a single MXN is worth 0.043705 CHF.

The rate shown above is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It sits exactly halfway between the buying and selling prices on the wholesale market. Think of it as a fair reference point: nobody earns anything on it directly, and that is why consumers almost never receive it in full.

What ends up on the MXN side depends on two separate costs: the gap between the provider’s rate and the mid-market rate and any fixed or percentage fee. In the sections below we explain how those costs work, show how they add up on a real amount and share simple habits to get closer to the mid-market rate when you change CHF into MXN.

Before you send: security and large amounts

Check the provider’s licence first. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own, which protects you if something goes wrong.

Verify every detail of the recipient. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details: confirm by phone using a number you already know.

Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, like a statement or a sales contract. For big amounts it can pay to ask for a better rate. Some also let you lock in a rate for a short period.

How providers price CHF to MXN

Nearly every bank and app do not convert at the mid-market rate as such. Instead they quote a slightly worse rate and pocket the gap. People call this the spread. If the margin is 2%, then for every 100 CHF you convert, about 2 CHF worth disappears before the money arrives.

Next to that markup, a lot of services add a visible fee. That can be a fixed amount per transfer, a share of what you send or a mix of both. With international bank payments extra deductions can follow, and those only show up at the end.

Be wary of anything sold as commission-free. Free usually means the price is built into the exchange rate. The only fair way to compare is how much MXN the recipient ends up with for an identical CHF amount, which is how the table above is sorted.

The countries behind CHF and MXN

Swiss Franc is the money you pay with in Switzerland, Liechtenstein. Mexican Peso is what people pay with in Mexico. That is useful to know for anyone who earns in one of these currencies and spends in the other.

People convert CHF to MXN for many reasons: paying suppliers, supporting relatives, buying property or simply travelling. What suits one case may not suit another: a single big transfer benefits most from a sharp rate, while frequent smaller payments suffer more from flat charges.

Each country has its own payment habits. Some recipients expect a bank account number with a local bank code, others an IBAN, and in some places mobile wallets or cash collection are widely used. Ask the recipient for the exact details in advance.

Paying less when you change CHF into MXN

Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A small fee on its own says little if the rate is poor. What you want to know is how much MXN arrives for your CHF, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.

At foreign tills and cash machines, you can get a choice between your own currency and the local one. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. The rate used is usually poor. Choose the local currency and the conversion follows your card’s own terms.

Timing can also matter. Rates quoted on a Saturday or Sunday can include a weekend surcharge. If you are not in a hurry, a rate alert or limit order lets you convert automatically once CHF/MXN reaches a level you choose. It saves you from checking the rate every day, but the target may never be reached.

Finally, look at how you pay. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, while a plain bank transfer is normally the low-cost option. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer reduces what you pay in flat fees.

Why we compare total cost

Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. We then apply each provider’s published fees and exchange rate margin, and work out how much MXN the recipient would end up with. In total 9 providers are included, ranked from most to least received.

The figures refresh every half hour, so the page reflects the market of October 30, 2026. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, and it can differ slightly from our calculation.

We are not owned by any provider. We may earn a commission through some links, which help pay for the site. That never changes the ranking: the provider that delivers the most MXN comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.

Bank transfer or money transfer service for MXN?

Your regular bank usually sends the money through SWIFT. Along the way one or more intermediary banks may handle it, each of which can deduct a charge. It typically arrives within a few working days, and the final deduction is often only visible afterwards.

Dedicated providers take another route. They hold balances in both currencies, so your CHF stays in the CHF system and the recipient is paid in MXN from a local account. That is often faster and cheaper, and you see exactly what will arrive before you confirm.

How fast a transfer really is depends on more than the provider: how you pay, the time of day, cut-off times and bank holidays in both countries. A first transfer can take longer because the provider has to verify your identity. Finish verification in advance when a deadline is involved.

Swiss Franc against Mexican Peso: the last twelve months

Over the past twelve months, the price of CHF in MXN has changed by -1.15%. During that year the rate peaked at 23.3057 MXN per CHF, and the low point came in at 20.8151. Today’s rate of 22.8806 sits somewhere inside that range.

The distance between the high and the low puts the movement into real terms. For a bigger amount, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, sometimes more than the choice of provider.

The rate reflects news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. These figures describe the past and say nothing about what comes next. If you are waiting for a particular level, a rate alert is a calmer option than trying to predict the market.

What 1,000.00 CHF gets you in MXN

Consider a transfer of 1,000.00 CHF. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (22.8806), that marks the theoretical maximum of what the recipient could get. No service pays out that exact figure, because margins and fees come off first.

Across the 9 providers in our comparison, Wise delivered the most, with 22,769.12 MXN at the time of our last update. The gap between 22,769.12 MXN and the theoretical maximum shows the true cost, fees and margin combined.

Note that a different amount can produce a different winner. A flat fee hurts most when the amount is small, while a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Try your actual amount in the calculator above to see the ranking that applies to you.
