Euro to Platinum: what you are looking at
This page brings together the exchange rate between Euro (EUR) and Platinum (XPT) and compares it with what real providers charge to convert one into the other. At the latest update on October 31, 2026, 1 EUR equals 0.00077892 XPT, while 1 XPT is worth 1,283.84 EUR.
The figure at the top is the mid-market rate. It is the midpoint between what wholesale traders pay for EUR and what they ask for it. Treat it as a neutral benchmark: nobody earns anything on it directly, which is exactly why few consumer services pass it on unchanged.
The amount that lands in the other account depends on two things: the gap between the provider’s rate and the mid-market rate and the visible transfer or service fee. Below the converter and chart we take those costs apart, show how they add up on a real amount and give concrete ways to get closer to the mid-market rate when you swap Euro for Platinum.
Sample calculation for 1,000.00 EUR
Take a conversion of 1,000.00 EUR. Using the reference rate of 0.00077892, you can work out the upper limit of what is possible on the XPT side. In reality every provider keeps something, because margins and fees come off first.
Looking at all 4 providers we track, BullionVault gave the best result: the recipient gets 0.7742 XPT after all costs. The difference between that figure and the mid-market amount is the real price of the transfer.
Bear in mind that the cheapest provider for 1,000.00 EUR is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, while the margin in the rate becomes the bigger cost on larger transfers. Run your own figure through the converter to see the ranking that applies to you.
Precious metals priced in currency: EUR/XPT
Precious metals are quoted per troy ounce, slightly heavier than a regular ounce, at around 31.1 grams. The codes XAU, XAG, XPT and XPD stand for gold, silver, platinum and palladium, so the metal behaves like one side of a currency pair. The figure above refers to one troy ounce.
What you see is the spot price: the market price for big bars traded between dealers. Retail products carry a premium above that price, to pay for production, distribution and the seller’s margin. The buyback price is normally lower than spot.
There are different ways to hold metal. Physical metal at home needs safe storage and insurance. An allocated vault account costs a yearly fee, with the metal registered to you. Exchange-traded products give exposure to the price, not always to the metal itself.
Tax rules also differ. In the EU, investment gold is generally exempt from VAT, while silver usually is not. We show prices, not investment advice.
Before you send: security and large amounts
Only use providers that are regulated. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Regulated firms have to safeguard client funds and that offers protection if the company fails.
Verify every detail of the recipient. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details. Verify through a channel you trust.
Larger transfers often come with additional questions. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.
How we rank providers for EUR to XPT
Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. We then apply each provider’s published fees and exchange rate margin, to calculate what actually arrives in XPT. The comparison covers 4 providers, placed side by side.
Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 31, 2026. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, because their rate can move between our updates.
No bank, app or exchange owns GoldexPay. We may earn a commission through some links. That never changes the ranking: providers are sorted purely by how much XPT the recipient gets.
How EUR/XPT moved over the past year
Compared with a year ago, the EUR/XPT rate has changed by +35.21%. Within those twelve months the highest level was 0.00077892 XPT for one EUR, while the lowest was 0.00049016. Today’s rate of 0.00077892 can be measured against those two levels.
That range between high and low is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. On a large conversion, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, sometimes more than the choice of provider.
Exchange rates respond to news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. The statistics here are historical, not a forecast. If you want to act on a certain rate, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.
What banks and apps really charge for EUR to XPT
The majority of services stay away from the mid-market rate itself. Instead they shift the rate in their own favour and earn on the difference. This is known as the exchange rate margin. If the margin is 2%, then for every 100 EUR you convert, about 2 EUR worth disappears before the money arrives.
Next to that markup, most banks charge an explicit fee. That can be a flat charge per payment, a share of what you send or a mix of both. With international bank payments the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, which shrinks the amount that finally arrives.
Look twice at anything sold as commission-free. Free usually means the price is built into the exchange rate. What really counts is the total amount that arrives in XPT for the same amount of EUR, and that is the figure our table ranks on.
Tips for converting EUR to XPT
Compare the total cost, not the fee alone. A small fee on its own says little because the margin can make up the difference. The fairest figure to compare is the XPT amount after every cost, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.
When you pay by card abroad, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. This is called dynamic currency conversion. It tends to be among the most expensive ways to convert. Choose the local currency and the conversion follows your card’s own terms.
Timing can also matter. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. If you are not in a hurry, a rate alert or limit order lets you convert automatically once EUR/XPT reaches a level you choose. It saves you from checking the rate every day, but there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
Finally, look at how you pay. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, while funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Sending less often but in larger amounts also cuts the impact of fixed fees.
