The NOK/ADA exchange rate: what you are looking at
This page follows the price relationship between Norwegian Krone (NOK) and Cardano (ADA) and compares it with the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. As of October 31, 2026, 1 NOK buys 0.553677 ADA, and one ADA is worth 1.8061 NOK.
The rate shown above is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It is calculated as the middle of what wholesale traders pay for NOK and what they ask for it. Treat it as the cleanest reference you can get: no fee or margin is built in, which is exactly why few consumer services pass it on unchanged.
What you actually receive is shaped by two things: the margin a provider adds to that rate and the fee you see on the order screen. Below the converter and chart we show how those costs are built up, look at what a conversion costs in practice and give concrete ways to get closer to the mid-market rate when you swap Norwegian Krone for Cardano.
Sending a larger amount from NOK to ADA
Make sure the provider is licensed. Look for authorisation from the FCA in the UK or the financial regulator in your own country. Regulated firms have to safeguard client funds, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Double-check the recipient details before you confirm. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details: confirm by phone using a number you already know.
Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.
How our NOK/ADA comparison works
Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. Each provider’s published fee and markup are applied on top, which gives the amount the recipient receives. We do this for 1 providers, placed side by side.
Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, because their rate can move between our updates, especially when markets are busy.
GoldexPay is independent. Some of the links are affiliate links. That never changes the ranking: providers are sorted purely by how much ADA the recipient gets.
Crypto spreads, network fees and custody
Crypto prices differ from platform to platform. On a trading platform, you pay the difference between bid and ask, and a commission per trade. Simple broker apps often show one price that has the cost baked in.
When you move crypto to or from your own wallet, there is a separate network charge. It is unrelated to how much you move, so for small amounts it can be a large share. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.
The price of a crypto asset can swing hard in a short time. A displayed price may be fixed only for a few seconds, and big orders can fill at a worse price than shown. Use the rate here as a guide, not as a binding quote.
Custody is another point to consider. Coins kept on an exchange are held by that exchange, while self-custody means you alone can access, or lose, the funds. Use platforms that are registered with the regulator in your country.
How providers price NOK to ADA
Nearly every bank and app stay away from the rate of 0.553677 as such. Instead they offer a rate that is a little less favourable and keep the difference. This is known as the spread. If the margin is 2%, then for every 100 NOK you convert, about 2 NOK worth disappears before the money arrives.
Besides the hidden margin, a lot of services add a visible fee. This is usually a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or a mix of both. On classic bank transfers abroad other banks along the route may take their own cut, which shrinks the amount that finally arrives.
Take a close look at services that advertise free transfers. In many cases the margin in the rate simply does the work of the fee. What really counts is how much ADA the recipient ends up with for an identical NOK amount, and that is the figure our table ranks on.
Tips for converting NOK to ADA
Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive when the margin is high. The fairest figure to compare is the amount received, and that already includes both margin and fee.
When you pay by card abroad, you may be asked whether to pay in NOK or in the local currency. This is called dynamic currency conversion. It usually comes with a steep markup. Choose the local currency and the conversion follows your card’s own terms.
Timing can also matter. Rates quoted on a Saturday or Sunday can include a weekend surcharge. If you are not in a hurry, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. That avoids guessing, but the target may never be reached.
The payment method matters as well. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, while funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Bundling smaller transfers reduces what you pay in flat fees.
Recent movement in the NOK/ADA rate
Over the past twelve months, the exchange rate has changed by +235.46%. In that period the rate peaked at 0.702024 ADA per NOK, and the bottom of the range was 0.161777. The current 0.553677 can be measured against those two levels.
The spread between the year’s extremes puts the movement into real terms. On a large conversion, the moment you choose can make a noticeable difference to what arrives, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
The rate reflects central bank policy, economic data and shifts in risk appetite. The statistics here are historical, not a forecast. If you are waiting for a particular level, a rate alert is a calmer option than trying to predict the market.
Sample calculation for 10,000.00 NOK
Consider an amount of 10,000.00 NOK. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (0.553677), that marks the theoretical maximum of what is possible on the ADA side. No service pays out that exact figure, because margins and fees come off first.
Looking at all 1 providers we track, Revolut delivered the most and paid out 5,454.27 ADA after all costs. The gap between 5,454.27 ADA and the theoretical maximum shows the true cost, fees and margin combined.
Bear in mind that a different amount can produce a different winner. A flat fee hurts most when the amount is small, whereas a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Try your actual amount in the calculator above for a ranking that fits your situation.
