The SOL/XPT exchange rate explained

This overview brings together the rate for Solana (SOL) and Platinum (XPT), together with the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. On October 31, 2026, 1 SOL buys 0.067157 XPT, and a single XPT comes to 14.8905 SOL.

That headline number is the interbank mid rate. It is calculated as the middle of the price at which large banks buy SOL and the price at which they sell it. It works as a neutral benchmark: nobody earns anything on it directly, so few consumer services pass it on unchanged.

What you actually receive is shaped by two things: the margin a provider adds to that rate and the fee you see on the order screen. Further down we explain how those costs work, put them side by side and list practical steps to keep more of your money when converting SOL to XPT.

How we rank providers for SOL to XPT

We start from the live mid-market rate for SOL/XPT. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, to calculate what actually arrives in XPT. We do this for 0 providers, ranked from most to least received.

The figures refresh every half hour, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, since markets keep moving.

GoldexPay is independent. Some of the links are affiliate links. That never changes the ranking: the provider that delivers the most XPT comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.

Reading a gold or silver price

The standard unit for metals is the troy ounce, slightly heavier than a regular ounce, at around 31.1 grams. XAU is the code for gold, XAG for silver, XPT for platinum and XPD for palladium, so the metal behaves like one side of a currency pair. The rate shown is the price of one troy ounce.

What you see is the spot price: the price professionals pay for large quantities. Buy a coin or small bar and you pay a premium on top, covering minting, handling and the dealer’s margin. The buyback price is normally lower than spot.

Ownership comes in more than one shape. Storing metal at home brings its own risks and costs. Professional storage comes with storage costs but takes care of security. Paper products track the price but do not always give you physical metal.

Taxes can change the picture. Across the EU, investment gold is normally VAT-free, but silver is generally taxed. We show prices, not investment advice.

One year of SOL to XPT

Compared with a year ago, the exchange rate shows a change of +57.18%. In that period the highest level was 0.073832 XPT per SOL, and the bottom of the range was 0.034743. At 0.067157, the rate today sits somewhere inside that range.

The spread between the year’s extremes shows how much the rate can move in practice. On a large conversion, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, occasionally more than the difference between providers.

The rate reflects interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If you want to act on a certain rate, a rate alert is a calmer option than trying to predict the market.

Exchange rate markup and fees on SOL/XPT

Most providers stay away from the mid-market rate as such. They quote a slightly worse rate and keep the difference. That gap is called the exchange rate margin. A markup of 2%, for example, means that about 2 out of every 100 SOL never reach the recipient.

On top of the margin, many providers add a visible fee. This is usually a flat charge per payment, a share of what you send or both at once. For transfers sent through the banking network the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, so the recipient gets less than you expected.

Be wary of anything sold as commission-free. The cost often sits in the rate instead. What really counts is the final XPT figure for exactly the same sum, which is how the table above is sorted.

Larger transfers: what to check first

Make sure the provider is licensed. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own and that offers protection if the company fails.

Check names and account details twice. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details. Call to confirm, using contact details you already had.

For large amounts, expect extra checks. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, like a statement or a sales contract. Some services offer better rates or a personal contact for larger transfers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.

Buying or selling crypto: SOL to XPT

Crypto prices differ from platform to platform. On an exchange with an order book, there is a gap between the buy and sell price, the spread, on top of a maker or taker fee. Simple broker apps often show one price which hides a wider spread.

If you withdraw coins to a wallet, a network fee applies. It is often a fixed amount regardless of the size of the transfer, which makes small withdrawals relatively expensive. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.

Crypto prices can move sharply within minutes. A quote is often only valid for a short moment, and big orders can fill at a worse price than shown. Treat the figure above as an indication.

Think about custody as well. If you leave crypto on a platform, the platform controls it, whereas in your own wallet you are fully responsible for the keys. Use platforms that are registered with the regulator in your country.

Tips for converting SOL to XPT

Look at the final amount, not just the fee. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive if the rate is poor. What you want to know is the XPT amount after every cost, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.

If you pay or withdraw cash in a XPT country, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. The rate used is usually poor. Choose the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.

Watch the timing as well. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. When there is no deadline, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. It saves you from checking the rate every day, but the target may never be reached.

Also check how you fund the transfer. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, and a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer reduces what you pay in flat fees.
