Converting Solana into US Dollar: rate, costs and context
The page you are reading tracks the price relationship between Solana (SOL) and US Dollar (USD) and sets it next to the cost of an actual conversion at a range of providers. As of October 30, 2026, 1 SOL buys 93.9900 USD, while one USD comes to 0.010639 SOL.
That headline number is the mid-market rate. It is the midpoint between the price at which large banks buy SOL and the price at which they sell it. Think of it as the cleanest reference you can get: nobody earns anything on it directly, so consumers almost never receive it in full.
What ends up on the USD side comes down to two separate costs: the margin a provider adds to that rate and any fixed or percentage fee. Further down we take those costs apart, look at what a conversion costs in practice and give concrete ways to lose less on the exchange when you change SOL into USD.
Why we compare total cost
Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, and work out how much USD the recipient would end up with. The comparison covers 16 providers, so you can see the differences at a glance.
We update the rates every 30 minutes, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, since markets keep moving, especially when markets are busy.
We are not owned by any provider. Some links on this page are affiliate links, which help pay for the site. The order is never affected by them: the provider that delivers the most USD comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.
How providers price SOL to USD
Nearly every bank and app stay away from the mid-market rate itself. Instead they quote a slightly worse rate and earn on the difference. This is known as the markup. With a 2% markup, for instance, about 2 out of every 100 SOL never reach the recipient.
On top of the margin, many providers charge an explicit fee. This is usually a fixed amount per transfer, a share of what you send or a mix of both. For transfers sent through the banking network the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, and those only show up at the end.
Take a close look at services that advertise free transfers. The cost often sits in the rate instead. The reliable test is how much USD the recipient ends up with for an identical SOL amount, which is how the table above is sorted.
10.0000 SOL to USD, step by step
Let’s use a conversion of 10.0000 SOL. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (93.9900), that sum sets the ceiling for what any provider could deliver in USD. In reality every provider keeps something, as costs are deducted somewhere in the process.
Across the 16 providers in our comparison, Crypto.com delivered the most: the recipient gets 938.73 USD after all costs. The difference between that figure and the mid-market amount is the real price of the transfer.
Note that the cheapest provider for 10.0000 SOL is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, while a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Run your own figure through the converter and check whether the order changes.
Crypto spreads, network fees and custody
Crypto prices differ from platform to platform. On an exchange with an order book, there is a gap between the buy and sell price, the spread, plus a trading fee. Simple broker apps often show one price that has the cost baked in.
If you withdraw coins to a wallet, there is a separate network charge. It is often a fixed amount regardless of the size of the transfer, so it weighs more on small transactions. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: coins sent over the wrong network can be lost.
Volatility is much higher than with regular currencies. A quote is often only valid for a short moment, and big orders can fill at a worse price than shown. Use the rate here as a guide, not as a binding quote.
Custody is another point to consider. On a platform, someone else manages the private keys, while self-custody means you alone can access, or lose, the funds. Check that a platform is registered or licensed with a financial regulator where you live.
Practical ways to save on SOL/USD
Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A small fee on its own says little because the margin can make up the difference. What you want to know is the amount received, which combines margin and fee.
At foreign tills and cash machines, you can get a choice between your own currency and the local one. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. It tends to be among the most expensive ways to convert. Pick the local currency and the conversion follows your card’s own terms.
Timing can also matter. Rates quoted on a Saturday or Sunday can include a weekend surcharge. If you are not in a hurry, a rate alert or limit order lets you convert automatically once SOL/USD reaches a level you choose. That avoids guessing, though there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
Also check how you fund the transfer. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, while a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer means fixed charges hit you fewer times.
The SOL/USD rate over twelve months
Compared with a year ago, the exchange rate moved by -51.57%. In that period the highest level was 194.0727 USD per SOL, while the bottom of the range was 62.1792. The current 93.9900 sits somewhere inside that range.
The distance between the high and the low puts the movement into real terms. When you convert a substantial sum, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, sometimes more than the choice of provider.
Exchange rates respond to news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. These figures describe the past and say nothing about what comes next. If you are waiting for a particular level, a rate alert is a calmer option than trying to predict the market.
Staying safe with bigger SOL to USD transfers
Only use providers that are regulated. Look for authorisation from the FCA in the UK or the financial regulator in your own country. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own and that offers protection if the company fails.
Verify every detail of the recipient. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details: confirm by phone using a number you already know.
Larger transfers often come with additional questions. You may need to show proof of the source of funds, such as a payslip, sale agreement or bank statement. Some services offer better rates or a personal contact for larger transfers. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.
