Converting Australian Dollar into Polish Zloty at a glance
The page you are reading follows the exchange rate between Australian Dollar (AUD) and Polish Zloty (PLN) and sets it next to what real providers charge to convert one into the other. As of October 30, 2026, one AUD is worth 2.7652 PLN, while a single PLN is worth 0.361639 AUD.
The rate shown above is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It is the midpoint between what wholesale traders pay for AUD and what they ask for it. It works as a fair reference point: nobody earns anything on it directly, so you rarely get it as a private customer.
The amount that lands in the other account depends on two things: the gap between the provider’s rate and the mid-market rate and any fixed or percentage fee. In the sections below we show how those costs are built up, look at what a conversion costs in practice and share simple habits to get closer to the mid-market rate when converting AUD to PLN.
How AUD/PLN moved over the past year
Compared with a year ago, the exchange rate shows a change of +15.16%. During that year the top of the range was 2.7822 PLN for one AUD, while the bottom of the range was 2.3637. Today’s rate of 2.7652 is easy to place within that band.
The spread between the year’s extremes shows how much the rate can move in practice. When you convert a substantial sum, the moment you choose can make a noticeable difference to what arrives, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
Rates are pushed around by central bank policy, economic data and shifts in risk appetite. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If you are waiting for a particular level, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.
AUD and PLN around the world
Australian Dollar is the currency of Australia. Polish Zloty is what people pay with in Poland. Knowing this helps for anyone who earns in one of these currencies and spends in the other.
The reasons for changing AUD into PLN vary: moving abroad, studying, doing business or sending a gift. What suits one case may not suit another: a one-off large payment calls for the best rate, whereas regular small amounts are more sensitive to fixed fees.
Payout methods vary from country to country. Depending on the country, you need an IBAN, a local account number or a mobile wallet, and in some places mobile wallets or cash collection are widely used. Ask the recipient for the exact details in advance.
How to get a better AUD to PLN rate
Compare the total cost, not the fee alone. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive because the margin can make up the difference. The number that matters is the amount received, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.
When you pay by card abroad, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. The rate used is usually poor. Pick the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.
Watch the timing as well. Rates quoted on a Saturday or Sunday can include a weekend surcharge. When there is no deadline, you can set a target rate and let the provider convert only when it is reached. That avoids guessing, but the target may never be reached.
Finally, look at how you pay. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, while a plain bank transfer is normally the low-cost option. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer means fixed charges hit you fewer times.
Mid-market rate versus the rate you get
Most providers stay away from the mid-market rate itself. They shift the rate in their own favour and pocket the gap. That gap is called the markup. If the margin is 2%, then for every 100 AUD you convert, about 2 AUD worth disappears before the money arrives.
Next to that markup, many providers add a visible fee. It may be a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or both at once. For transfers sent through the banking network the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, so the recipient gets less than you expected.
Look twice at services that advertise free transfers. In many cases the margin in the rate simply does the work of the fee. What really counts is the final PLN figure for an identical AUD amount, which is how the table above is sorted.
Staying safe with bigger AUD to PLN transfers
Check the provider’s licence first. Look for authorisation from the FCA in the UK or the financial regulator in your own country. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own.
Check names and account details twice. An international payment is hard to reverse once it is sent. Unexpected changes to payment details are a classic warning sign. Verify through a channel you trust.
Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, like a statement or a sales contract. Some services offer better rates or a personal contact for larger transfers. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.
Example: converting 1,000.00 AUD
Take a conversion of 1,000.00 AUD. Using the reference rate of 2.7652, that sum sets the ceiling for what is possible on the PLN side. In reality every provider keeps something, because margins and fees come off first.
Of the 8 providers we compared, Revolut delivered the most, with 2,751.37 PLN at the time of our last update. The difference between that figure and the mid-market amount is the real price of the transfer.
Bear in mind that rankings shift with the amount you send. A flat fee hurts most when the amount is small, while a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Try your actual amount in the calculator above and check whether the order changes.
Bank transfer or money transfer service for PLN?
Your regular bank usually sends the money via the SWIFT system. Your transfer may hop between several banks before it arrives, and each can take a fee. Expect anything from one to a few working days, with the full cost not always known upfront.
Many money transfer apps use a different model. They hold balances in both currencies, so your AUD stays in the AUD system and the recipient is paid in PLN from a local account. This usually cuts both time and cost, and the amount that arrives is known in advance.
Delivery time depends on several factors: how you pay, the time of day, cut-off times and bank holidays in both countries. New customers sometimes wait a little longer as the provider completes its checks. Finish verification in advance if timing is tight.
About this comparison
Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, to calculate what actually arrives in PLN. We do this for 8 providers, so you can see the differences at a glance.
The figures refresh every half hour, with October 30, 2026 as the reference date. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, and it can differ slightly from our calculation, especially when markets are busy.
No bank, app or exchange owns GoldexPay. Some of the links are affiliate links, which help fund our work. The order is never affected by them: providers are sorted purely by how much PLN the recipient gets.
