Converting Bitcoin into Swiss Franc: rate, costs and context
This overview tracks the rate for Bitcoin (BTC) and Swiss Franc (CHF) and sets it next to what real providers charge to convert one into the other. As of October 30, 2026, 1 BTC equals 63,286.12 CHF, and a single CHF is worth 0.0000158013 BTC.
The rate shown above is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It sits exactly halfway between what wholesale traders pay for BTC and what they ask for it. It works as the cleanest reference you can get: it contains no profit margin and no fees, and that is why few consumer services pass it on unchanged.
What you actually receive is shaped by two things: a markup hidden in the exchange rate and any fixed or percentage fee. Below the converter and chart we show how those costs are built up, put them side by side and share simple habits to get closer to the mid-market rate when you change BTC into CHF.
Safety checks before you convert BTC to CHF
Only use providers that are regulated. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Check names and account details twice. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details. Call to confirm, using contact details you already had.
Larger transfers often come with additional questions. You may need to show proof of the source of funds, like a statement or a sales contract. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.
The BTC/CHF rate over twelve months
Over the past twelve months, the exchange rate moved by -28.39%. Within those twelve months the top of the range was 89,234.86 CHF per BTC, and the bottom of the range was 47,434.52. Today’s rate of 63,286.12 is easy to place within that band.
The spread between the year’s extremes is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. On a large conversion, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, sometimes more than the choice of provider.
The rate reflects interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. These figures describe the past and say nothing about what comes next. If timing matters to you, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.
Mid-market rate versus the rate you get
Nearly every bank and app do not convert at the mid-market rate itself. Instead they quote a slightly worse rate and keep the difference. This is known as the exchange rate margin. With a 2% markup, for instance, for every 100 BTC you convert, about 2 BTC worth disappears before the money arrives.
On top of the margin, many providers add a visible fee. That can be a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or both at once. On classic bank transfers abroad other banks along the route may take their own cut, so the recipient gets less than you expected.
Take a close look at offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". Free usually means the price is built into the exchange rate. The only fair way to compare is the total amount that arrives in CHF for the same amount of BTC, and that is the figure our table ranks on.
Converting BTC to CHF as a crypto pair
Where you convert matters a lot with crypto. On an exchange with an order book, you pay the difference between bid and ask, and a commission per trade. Simple broker apps often show one price which hides a wider spread.
Withdrawing crypto from a platform, you pay a network or withdrawal fee. That fee does not depend on the amount, so it weighs more on small transactions. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.
Crypto prices can move sharply within minutes. Quoted prices tend to expire quickly, and on large orders the execution price can slip. Treat the figure above as an indication.
Also decide who holds the keys. On a platform, someone else manages the private keys, while self-custody means you alone can access, or lose, the funds. Look for registration with a financial supervisor before you deposit.
About this comparison
We start from the live mid-market rate for BTC/CHF. Each provider’s published fee and markup are applied on top, and work out how much CHF the recipient would end up with. In total 4 providers are included, so you can see the differences at a glance.
Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 30, 2026. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, because their rate can move between our updates, especially when markets are busy.
We are not owned by any provider. Some of the links are affiliate links. That never changes the ranking: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.
Practical ways to save on BTC/CHF
Compare the total cost, not the fee alone. A small fee on its own says little because the margin can make up the difference. The fairest figure to compare is how much CHF arrives for your BTC, which combines the markup and the fee.
If you pay or withdraw cash in a CHF country, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. It tends to be among the most expensive ways to convert. Choose the local currency and the conversion follows your card’s own terms.
Timing can also matter. Rates quoted on a Saturday or Sunday can include a weekend surcharge. For transfers that can wait, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. It takes the guesswork out, though there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
Finally, look at how you pay. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, and a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Bundling smaller transfers also cuts the impact of fixed fees.
0.0100 BTC to CHF, step by step
Consider a conversion of 0.0100 BTC. At the mid-market rate of 63,286.12, that marks the theoretical maximum of what is possible on the CHF side. In practice nobody hands over that full amount, as costs are deducted somewhere in the process.
Looking at all 4 providers we track, Kraken came out cheapest for this amount, with 630.01 CHF at the time of our last update. The gap between 630.01 CHF and the theoretical maximum is the real price of the transfer.
Note that the cheapest provider for 0.0100 BTC is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. A flat fee hurts most when the amount is small, while the margin in the rate becomes the bigger cost on larger transfers. Run your own figure through the converter to see the ranking that applies to you.
