The GBP/XRP exchange rate explained
This page brings together the price relationship between British Pound (GBP) and XRP (XRP) and sets it next to the cost of an actual conversion at a range of providers. On October 30, 2026, 1 GBP equals 1.0805 XRP, and 1 XRP is worth 0.925522 GBP.
The figure at the top is the mid-market rate. It is calculated as the middle of the price at which large banks buy GBP and the price at which they sell it. Treat it as a fair reference point: nobody earns anything on it directly, which is exactly why few consumer services pass it on unchanged.
The amount that lands in the other account is shaped by two things: the margin a provider adds to that rate and any fixed or percentage fee. Below the converter and chart we take those costs apart, show how they add up on a real amount and share simple habits to get closer to the mid-market rate when converting GBP to XRP.
One year of GBP to XRP
Across the last year, the GBP/XRP rate has changed by +109.91%. Within those twelve months the top of the range was 1.3649 XRP for one GBP, and the low point came in at 0.514737. Today’s rate of 1.0805 sits somewhere inside that range.
The spread between the year’s extremes is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. When you convert a substantial sum, the moment you choose can make a noticeable difference to what arrives, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
Rates are pushed around by central bank policy, economic data and shifts in risk appetite. The statistics here are historical, not a forecast. If timing matters to you, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.
Where the cost of converting GBP to XRP hides
Nearly every bank and app stay away from the mid-market rate as such. Instead they shift the rate in their own favour and pocket the gap. This is known as the spread. With a 2% markup, for instance, about 2 out of every 100 GBP never reach the recipient.
Besides the hidden margin, a lot of services ask for a separate fee. That can be a fixed amount per transfer, a percentage of the amount or both at once. For transfers sent through the banking network the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, which shrinks the amount that finally arrives.
Be wary of offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". Free usually means the price is built into the exchange rate. What really counts is the total amount that arrives in XRP for an identical GBP amount, and the comparison table on this page is ranked on exactly that.
Crypto spreads, network fees and custody
With crypto, the price you pay depends heavily on where you trade. On an exchange with an order book, there is a gap between the buy and sell price, the spread, on top of a maker or taker fee. Simple broker apps often show one price with the margin already included.
If you withdraw coins to a wallet, you pay a network or withdrawal fee. It is unrelated to how much you move, which makes small withdrawals relatively expensive. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: mistakes here are rarely reversible.
Crypto prices can move sharply within minutes. Quoted prices tend to expire quickly, and on large orders the execution price can slip. Use the rate here as a guide, not as a binding quote.
Also decide who holds the keys. If you leave crypto on a platform, the platform controls it, while a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Use platforms that are registered with the regulator in your country.
How our GBP/XRP comparison works
We start from the live mid-market rate for GBP/XRP. We then apply each provider’s published fees and exchange rate margin, to calculate what actually arrives in XRP. In total 5 providers are included, so you can see the differences at a glance.
Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 30, 2026. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, and it can differ slightly from our calculation, especially when markets are busy.
GoldexPay is independent. Some of the links are affiliate links, which help pay for the site. That never changes the ranking: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.
Example: converting 500.00 GBP
Let’s use a conversion of 500.00 GBP. Using the reference rate of 1.0805, that marks the theoretical maximum of what any provider could deliver in XRP. No service pays out that exact figure, since the margin and fees are taken out along the way.
Of the 5 providers we compared, Kraken gave the best result: the recipient gets 537.8056 XRP at the time of our last update. The difference between that figure and the mid-market amount shows the true cost, fees and margin combined.
Note that a different amount can produce a different winner. A flat fee hurts most when the amount is small, whereas a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Try your actual amount in the calculator above to see the ranking that applies to you.
How to get a better GBP to XRP rate
Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A small fee on its own says little when the margin is high. What you want to know is the amount received, and that already includes both margin and fee.
If you pay or withdraw cash in a XRP country, you may be asked whether to pay in GBP or in the local currency. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. It usually comes with a steep markup. Choose the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.
Timing can also matter. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. For transfers that can wait, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. That avoids guessing, though the target may never be reached.
Finally, look at how you pay. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, and a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Bundling smaller transfers also cuts the impact of fixed fees.
Safety checks before you convert GBP to XRP
Only use providers that are regulated. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own and that offers protection if the company fails.
Double-check the recipient details before you confirm. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details: confirm by phone using a number you already know.
Big sums usually trigger extra verification. You may need to show proof of the source of funds, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. Some services offer better rates or a personal contact for larger transfers. Some also let you lock in a rate for a short period.
