The INR/EUR exchange rate at a glance
The page you are reading follows the price relationship between Indian Rupee (INR) and Euro (EUR) and compares it with the cost of an actual conversion at a range of providers. On October 30, 2026, one INR is worth 0.00942590 EUR, while a single EUR equals 106.0907 INR.
The rate shown above is the mid-market rate. It is calculated as the middle of what wholesale traders pay for INR and what they ask for it. Think of it as a neutral benchmark: nobody earns anything on it directly, which is exactly why consumers almost never receive it in full.
What ends up on the EUR side depends on two separate costs: the gap between the provider’s rate and the mid-market rate and the visible transfer or service fee. Below the converter and chart we show how those costs are built up, put them side by side and share simple habits to get closer to the mid-market rate when converting INR to EUR.
A worked example with 100,000.00 INR
Let’s use a conversion of 100,000.00 INR. Using the reference rate of 0.00942590, you can work out the upper limit of what any provider could deliver in EUR. In reality every provider keeps something, because margins and fees come off first.
Of the 9 providers we compared, Wise gave the best result and paid out 937.95 EUR at the time of our last update. The difference between that figure and the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.
Note that the cheapest provider for 100,000.00 INR is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, whereas a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Run your own figure through the converter and check whether the order changes.
INR and EUR around the world
Indian Rupee is the currency of India. Euro is the official currency of Germany, France, Netherlands, Spain, Italy. This matters when you plan a trip, pay an invoice or send money to family.
People convert INR to EUR for many reasons: moving abroad, studying, doing business or sending a gift. Each situation asks for something different: a single big transfer calls for the best rate, while regular small amounts suffer more from flat charges.
Each country has its own payment habits. Account formats differ: IBAN in one place, account and routing numbers in another and in certain countries mobile wallets or cash collection are widely used. Check which details the provider needs before you start.
The INR/EUR rate over twelve months
Compared with a year ago, the exchange rate shows a change of -3.41%. During that year the highest level was 0.00981990 EUR for one INR, and the low point came in at 0.00890768. At 0.00942590, the rate today is easy to place within that band.
That range between high and low puts the movement into real terms. On a large conversion, the moment you choose can make a noticeable difference to what arrives, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
The rate reflects central bank policy, economic data and shifts in risk appetite. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If you want to act on a certain rate, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.
Mid-market rate versus the rate you get
The majority of services do not convert at the rate of 0.00942590 itself. They shift the rate in their own favour and earn on the difference. That gap is called the exchange rate margin. A markup of 2%, for example, means that you lose roughly 2 INR on every 100 INR, without it ever appearing as a fee.
On top of the margin, many providers ask for a separate fee. This is usually a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or a mix of both. For transfers sent through the banking network the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, and those only show up at the end.
Be wary of offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". Free usually means the price is built into the exchange rate. What really counts is how much EUR the recipient ends up with for an identical INR amount, and the comparison table on this page is ranked on exactly that.
Larger transfers: what to check first
Check the provider’s licence first. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Double-check the recipient details before you confirm. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details: confirm by phone using a number you already know.
Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.
Tips for converting INR to EUR
Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A small fee on its own says little if the rate is poor. The number that matters is how much EUR arrives for your INR, and that already includes both margin and fee.
At foreign tills and cash machines, you may be asked whether to pay in INR or in the local currency. This is called dynamic currency conversion. The rate used is usually poor. Choose the local currency and the conversion follows your card’s own terms.
Watch the timing as well. Rates quoted on a Saturday or Sunday can include a weekend surcharge. When there is no deadline, you can set a target rate and let the provider convert only when it is reached. It saves you from checking the rate every day, but the target may never be reached.
Finally, look at how you pay. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, while funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Sending less often but in larger amounts means fixed charges hit you fewer times.
SWIFT versus local payout for INR to EUR
Your regular bank usually sends the money over the SWIFT network. Along the way one or more intermediary banks may handle it, sometimes taking a fee at each step. It typically arrives within a few working days, and the final deduction is often only visible afterwards.
Specialised transfer services often work differently. They hold balances in both currencies, which means your payment and the payout both happen domestically. This usually cuts both time and cost, and the amount that arrives is known in advance.
Speed is not down to the provider alone: your payment method, cut-off times and public holidays on either side. A first transfer can take longer as the provider completes its checks. Finish verification in advance if the money has to arrive on a set date.
How our INR/EUR comparison works
We start from the live mid-market rate for INR/EUR. We then apply each provider’s published fees and exchange rate margin, and work out how much EUR the recipient would end up with. We do this for 9 providers, ranked from most to least received.
The figures refresh every half hour, with October 30, 2026 as the reference date. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, and it can differ slightly from our calculation.
GoldexPay is independent. Some links on this page are affiliate links. The order is never affected by them: providers are sorted purely by how much EUR the recipient gets.
