The LTC/USD exchange rate at a glance
This page follows the rate for Litecoin (LTC) and US Dollar (USD) and compares it with what real providers charge to convert one into the other. At the latest update on October 31, 2026, 1 LTC buys 55.8400 USD, while 1 USD comes to 0.017908 LTC.
The rate shown above is the mid-market rate. It sits exactly halfway between what wholesale traders pay for LTC and what they ask for it. It works as a fair reference point: it contains no profit margin and no fees, and that is why you rarely get it as a private customer.
What you actually receive depends on two things: a markup hidden in the exchange rate and any fixed or percentage fee. Further down we explain how those costs work, put them side by side and share simple habits to keep more of your money when you change LTC into USD.
How we rank providers for LTC to USD
We start from the live mid-market rate for LTC/USD. We then apply each provider’s published fees and exchange rate margin, and work out how much USD the recipient would end up with. We do this for 16 providers, placed side by side.
The figures refresh every half hour, with October 31, 2026 as the reference date. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, because their rate can move between our updates.
GoldexPay is independent. Some links on this page are affiliate links. They have no influence on the order: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.
How providers price LTC to USD
The majority of services will not give you the mid-market rate itself. They quote a slightly worse rate and earn on the difference. People call this the spread. A markup of 2%, for example, means that for every 100 LTC you convert, about 2 LTC worth disappears before the money arrives.
Next to that markup, a lot of services charge an explicit fee. It may be a flat charge per payment, a share of what you send or a mix of both. On classic bank transfers abroad extra deductions can follow, so the recipient gets less than you expected.
Take a close look at offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". Free usually means the price is built into the exchange rate. The reliable test is how much USD the recipient ends up with for the same amount of LTC, and that is the figure our table ranks on.
Practical ways to save on LTC/USD
Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A low headline fee proves nothing when the margin is high. The fairest figure to compare is the amount received, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.
If you pay or withdraw cash in a USD country, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. The rate used is usually poor. Always opt to pay in the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.
Watch the timing as well. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. When there is no deadline, you can set a target rate and let the provider convert only when it is reached. That avoids guessing, but there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
Also check how you fund the transfer. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, while a plain bank transfer is normally the low-cost option. Bundling smaller transfers reduces what you pay in flat fees.
Converting LTC to USD as a crypto pair
Crypto prices differ from platform to platform. On an exchange with an order book, you deal with a spread between the highest bid and the lowest ask, and a commission per trade. Simple broker apps often show one price that has the cost baked in.
If you withdraw coins to a wallet, you pay a network or withdrawal fee. It is unrelated to how much you move, so for small amounts it can be a large share. Always check which network a platform uses: mistakes here are rarely reversible.
Volatility is much higher than with regular currencies. A displayed price may be fixed only for a few seconds, and on large orders the execution price can slip. The rate on this page is a reference point, not a guaranteed price.
Think about custody as well. Coins kept on an exchange are held by that exchange, whereas a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Use platforms that are registered with the regulator in your country.
A worked example with 20.0000 LTC
Take a transfer of 20.0000 LTC. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (55.8400), that sum sets the ceiling for what the recipient could get. In practice nobody hands over that full amount, as costs are deducted somewhere in the process.
Of the 16 providers we compared, Crypto.com came out cheapest for this amount, with 1,115.40 USD in the end. Whatever is missing compared with the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.
Keep in mind that rankings shift with the amount you send. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, whereas a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Run your own figure through the converter and check whether the order changes.
The LTC/USD rate over twelve months
Across the last year, the price of LTC in USD moved by -40.14%. During that year the highest level was 110.1760 USD for one LTC, and the low point came in at 40.8699. At 55.8400, the rate today is easy to place within that band.
The distance between the high and the low shows how much the rate can move in practice. When you convert a substantial sum, the moment you choose can make a noticeable difference to what arrives, sometimes more than the choice of provider.
Exchange rates respond to news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If timing matters to you, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.
Larger transfers: what to check first
Only use providers that are regulated. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Check names and account details twice. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details. Verify through a channel you trust.
For large amounts, expect extra checks. You may need to show proof of the source of funds, such as a payslip, sale agreement or bank statement. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. Some also let you lock in a rate for a short period.
