The PLN/BTC exchange rate: rate, costs and context

This overview follows the exchange rate between Polish Zloty (PLN) and Bitcoin (BTC) and sets it next to the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. As of October 30, 2026, 1 PLN equals 0.0000033049 BTC, while a single BTC equals 302,578.76 PLN.

The rate shown above is the interbank mid rate. It is calculated as the middle of the buying and selling prices on the wholesale market. It works as the cleanest reference you can get: no fee or margin is built in, and that is why few consumer services pass it on unchanged.

What ends up on the BTC side is shaped by two things: a markup hidden in the exchange rate and the visible transfer or service fee. In the sections below we show how those costs are built up, look at what a conversion costs in practice and give concrete ways to get closer to the mid-market rate when you swap Polish Zloty for Bitcoin.

Recent movement in the PLN/BTC rate

Compared with a year ago, the PLN/BTC rate moved by +33.57%. Within those twelve months the top of the range was 0.0000045270 BTC per PLN, and the lowest was 0.0000024493. At 0.0000033049, the rate today is easy to place within that band.

The spread between the year’s extremes shows how much the rate can move in practice. For a bigger amount, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, sometimes more than the choice of provider.

Rates are pushed around by news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. The statistics here are historical, not a forecast. If timing matters to you, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.

How our PLN/BTC comparison works

We start from the live mid-market rate for PLN/BTC. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, to calculate what actually arrives in BTC. The comparison covers 2 providers, ranked from most to least received.

Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 30, 2026. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, and it can differ slightly from our calculation.

GoldexPay is independent. Some of the links are affiliate links, which help pay for the site. They have no influence on the order: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.

Crypto spreads, network fees and custody

Where you convert matters a lot with crypto. On an exchange with an order book, you deal with a spread between the highest bid and the lowest ask, and a commission per trade. Simple broker apps often show one price that has the cost baked in.

When you move crypto to or from your own wallet, you pay a network or withdrawal fee. It is often a fixed amount regardless of the size of the transfer, so it weighs more on small transactions. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.

Volatility is much higher than with regular currencies. A displayed price may be fixed only for a few seconds, while large trades risk slippage. Treat the figure above as an indication.

Custody is another point to consider. If you leave crypto on a platform, the platform controls it, whereas a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Look for registration with a financial supervisor before you deposit.

Tips for converting PLN to BTC

Compare the total cost, not the fee alone. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive because the margin can make up the difference. The number that matters is how much BTC arrives for your PLN, and that already includes both margin and fee.

If you pay or withdraw cash in a BTC country, you may be asked whether to pay in PLN or in the local currency. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. It usually comes with a steep markup. Pick the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.

Timing plays a role too. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. For transfers that can wait, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. That avoids guessing, though there is no guarantee the rate will get there.

Finally, look at how you pay. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, while funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer reduces what you pay in flat fees.

Sending a larger amount from PLN to BTC

Only use providers that are regulated. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Regulated firms have to safeguard client funds and that offers protection if the company fails.

Check names and account details twice. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details. Verify through a channel you trust.

Big sums usually trigger extra verification. You may need to show proof of the source of funds, like a statement or a sales contract. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.

How providers price PLN to BTC

Nearly every bank and app do not convert at the mid-market rate as such. Instead they offer a rate that is a little less favourable and keep the difference. This is known as the spread. A markup of 2%, for example, means that you lose roughly 2 PLN on every 100 PLN, without it ever appearing as a fee.

Next to that markup, a lot of services ask for a separate fee. It may be a fixed amount per transfer, a percentage of the amount or both at once. With international bank payments the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, and those only show up at the end.

Take a close look at anything sold as commission-free. In many cases the margin in the rate simply does the work of the fee. What really counts is how much BTC the recipient ends up with for exactly the same sum, and that is the figure our table ranks on.

Sample calculation for 5,000.00 PLN

Take a transfer of 5,000.00 PLN. At the mid-market rate of 0.0000033049, you can work out the upper limit of what any provider could deliver in BTC. In reality every provider keeps something, because margins and fees come off first.

Looking at all 2 providers we track, Revolut delivered the most and paid out 0.0163 BTC after all costs. Whatever is missing compared with the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.

Note that the cheapest provider for 5,000.00 PLN is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. A flat fee hurts most when the amount is small, while the margin in the rate becomes the bigger cost on larger transfers.
