Converting Singapore Dollar into Silver: what you are looking at
This page brings together the price relationship between Singapore Dollar (SGD) and Silver (XAG), together with what real providers charge to convert one into the other. At the latest update on October 30, 2026, one SGD is worth 0.015855 XAG, and 1 XAG comes to 63.0714 SGD.
The figure at the top is the interbank mid rate. It is calculated as the middle of the price at which large banks buy SGD and the price at which they sell it. Treat it as a neutral benchmark: it contains no profit margin and no fees, and that is why few consumer services pass it on unchanged.
The amount that lands in the other account depends on two separate costs: the margin a provider adds to that rate and any fixed or percentage fee. Below the converter and chart we show how those costs are built up, show how they add up on a real amount and share simple habits to keep more of your money when converting SGD to XAG.
Precious metals priced in currency: SGD/XAG
Precious metals are quoted per troy ounce, which is about 31.1 grams. In currency notation, gold is XAU, silver XAG, platinum XPT and palladium XPD, and they are treated like a currency in this pair. The rate shown is the price of one troy ounce.
The rate is based on the spot price: the price professionals pay for large quantities. Buy a coin or small bar and you pay a premium on top, to pay for production, distribution and the seller’s margin. When you sell, dealers usually pay somewhat below spot.
You can own precious metals in several forms. Physical metal at home needs safe storage and insurance. Vault storage through a dealer costs a yearly fee, with the metal registered to you. Paper products track the price but do not always give you physical metal.
Check how tax applies as well. Within the EU investment gold usually carries no VAT, unlike most silver. We show prices, not investment advice.
Getting the most XAG for your SGD
Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A low headline fee proves nothing because the margin can make up the difference. The number that matters is the XAG amount after every cost, which combines margin and fee.
If you pay or withdraw cash in a XAG country, you may be asked whether to pay in SGD or in the local currency. This is called dynamic currency conversion. It tends to be among the most expensive ways to convert. Always opt to pay in the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.
Timing plays a role too. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. If you are not in a hurry, a rate alert or limit order lets you convert automatically once SGD/XAG reaches a level you choose. It takes the guesswork out, though there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
Finally, look at how you pay. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, and a plain bank transfer is normally the low-cost option. Bundling smaller transfers also cuts the impact of fixed fees.
How SGD/XAG moved over the past year
Compared with a year ago, the exchange rate has changed by +57.00%. In that period the highest level was 0.015855 XAG for one SGD, while the bottom of the range was 0.00879409. Today’s rate of 0.015855 is easy to place within that band.
The spread between the year’s extremes is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. For a bigger amount, the moment you choose can make a noticeable difference to what arrives, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
Exchange rates respond to interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If you want to act on a certain rate, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.
Larger transfers: what to check first
Make sure the provider is licensed. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Regulated firms have to safeguard client funds, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Verify every detail of the recipient. An international payment is hard to reverse once it is sent. Unexpected changes to payment details are a classic warning sign. Verify through a channel you trust.
For large amounts, expect extra checks. You may need to show proof of the source of funds, like a statement or a sales contract. Some services offer better rates or a personal contact for larger transfers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.
Mid-market rate versus the rate you get
Nearly every bank and app will not give you the rate of 0.015855 itself. Instead they shift the rate in their own favour and pocket the gap. That gap is called the markup. If the margin is 2%, then for every 100 SGD you convert, about 2 SGD worth disappears before the money arrives.
Next to that markup, a lot of services add a visible fee. It may be a fixed amount per transfer, a percentage of the amount or a mix of both. With international bank payments other banks along the route may take their own cut, which shrinks the amount that finally arrives.
Look twice at offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". In many cases the margin in the rate simply does the work of the fee. The only fair way to compare is the total amount that arrives in XAG for an identical SGD amount, and that is the figure our table ranks on.
How GoldexPay compares SGD to XAG providers
Every calculation begins with the mid-market rate of 0.015855. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, to calculate what actually arrives in XAG. In total 0 providers are included, so you can see the differences at a glance.
The figures refresh every half hour, so the page reflects the market of October 30, 2026. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, because their rate can move between our updates, especially when markets are busy.
No bank, app or exchange owns GoldexPay. Some links on this page are affiliate links. The order is never affected by them: the provider that delivers the most XAG comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.
