Turkish Lira to Silver at a glance
This page tracks the exchange rate between Turkish Lira (TRY) and Silver (XAG) and compares it with the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. As of October 30, 2026, one TRY is worth 0.00039987 XAG, and 1 XAG comes to 2,500.83 TRY.
That headline number is the interbank mid rate. It is calculated as the middle of what wholesale traders pay for TRY and what they ask for it. It works as a neutral benchmark: it contains no profit margin and no fees, so consumers almost never receive it in full.
What you actually receive comes down to two separate costs: a markup hidden in the exchange rate and the visible transfer or service fee. Further down we show how those costs are built up, look at what a conversion costs in practice and give concrete ways to lose less on the exchange when converting TRY to XAG.
Tips for converting TRY to XAG
Look at the final amount, not just the fee. A small fee on its own says little because the margin can make up the difference. What you want to know is how much XAG arrives for your TRY, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.
If you pay or withdraw cash in a XAG country, you may be asked whether to pay in TRY or in the local currency. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. It tends to be among the most expensive ways to convert. Pick the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.
Timing can also matter. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. For transfers that can wait, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. It saves you from checking the rate every day, though there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
The payment method matters as well. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, and funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer also cuts the impact of fixed fees.
Why we compare total cost
Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, and work out how much XAG the recipient would end up with. The comparison covers 0 providers, placed side by side.
Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, with October 30, 2026 as the reference date. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, since markets keep moving, especially when markets are busy.
GoldexPay is independent. Some of the links are affiliate links, which help pay for the site. They have no influence on the order: the provider that delivers the most XAG comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.
Troy ounces, spot price and premiums
Gold and silver prices are expressed per troy ounce, equal to roughly 31.1 grams. XAU is the code for gold, XAG for silver, XPT for platinum and XPD for palladium, which is why they appear here like any other currency. One unit in this pair means one troy ounce.
The rate is based on the spot price: the market price for big bars traded between dealers. Retail products carry a premium above that price, covering minting, handling and the dealer’s margin. When you sell, dealers usually pay somewhat below spot.
There are different ways to hold metal. Keeping coins or bars yourself means arranging storage and insurance. Vault storage through a dealer charges an annual fee but keeps the metal in your name. Exchange-traded products give exposure to the price, not always to the metal itself.
Tax rules also differ. Within the EU investment gold usually carries no VAT, unlike most silver. This page shows the price and does not tell you whether to buy or sell.
Safety checks before you convert TRY to XAG
Check the provider’s licence first. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Check names and account details twice. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details. Verify through a channel you trust.
Larger transfers often come with additional questions. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.
The TRY/XAG rate over twelve months
Over the past twelve months, the TRY/XAG rate has changed by +35.65%. During that year the top of the range was 0.00039987 XAG per TRY, while the bottom of the range was 0.00025158. Today’s rate of 0.00039987 sits somewhere inside that range.
The distance between the high and the low is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. On a large conversion, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
Exchange rates respond to interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. The statistics here are historical, not a forecast. If you are waiting for a particular level, a rate alert is a calmer option than trying to predict the market.
Mid-market rate versus the rate you get
The majority of services stay away from the mid-market rate itself. They quote a slightly worse rate and earn on the difference. This is known as the exchange rate margin. If the margin is 2%, then for every 100 TRY you convert, about 2 TRY worth disappears before the money arrives.
Next to that markup, most banks ask for a separate fee. That can be a flat charge per payment, a share of what you send or a mix of both. With international bank payments other banks along the route may take their own cut, so the recipient gets less than you expected.
Look twice at offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". The cost often sits in the rate instead. The reliable test is the total amount that arrives in XAG for the same amount of TRY, which is how the table above is sorted.
