USD to PHP explained

This page tracks the exchange rate between US Dollar (USD) and Philippine Peso (PHP) and sets it next to the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. On October 30, 2026, 1 USD buys 63.6768 PHP, and 1 PHP comes to 0.015704 USD.

The figure at the top is the mid-market rate. It is the midpoint between the price at which large banks buy USD and the price at which they sell it. It works as the cleanest reference you can get: nobody earns anything on it directly, so you rarely get it as a private customer.

The amount that lands in the other account comes down to two things: a markup hidden in the exchange rate and the visible transfer or service fee. Below the converter and chart we show how those costs are built up, show how they add up on a real amount and give concrete ways to lose less on the exchange when you change USD into PHP.

Why we compare total cost

We start from the live mid-market rate for USD/PHP. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, which gives the amount the recipient receives. We do this for 9 providers, placed side by side.

Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. The final price is always set by the provider itself, because their rate can move between our updates, especially when markets are busy.

No bank, app or exchange owns GoldexPay. Some links on this page are affiliate links, which help pay for the site. The order is never affected by them: the provider that delivers the most PHP comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.

Safety checks before you convert USD to PHP

Check the provider’s licence first. Look for authorisation from the FCA in the UK or the financial regulator in your own country. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own, which protects you if something goes wrong.

Verify every detail of the recipient. An international payment is hard to reverse once it is sent. Unexpected changes to payment details are a classic warning sign. Call to confirm, using contact details you already had.

For large amounts, expect extra checks. You may need to show proof of the source of funds, like a statement or a sales contract. For big amounts it can pay to ask for a better rate. Some also let you lock in a rate for a short period.

Recent movement in the USD/PHP rate

Across the last year, the USD/PHP rate shows a change of +7.99%. Within those twelve months the rate peaked at 63.9875 PHP for one USD, and the bottom of the range was 57.5567. The current 63.6768 can be measured against those two levels.

The distance between the high and the low is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. For a bigger amount, the moment you choose can make a noticeable difference to what arrives, sometimes more than the choice of provider.

Rates are pushed around by interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. These figures describe the past and say nothing about what comes next. If timing matters to you, a rate alert is a calmer option than trying to predict the market.

Exchange rate markup and fees on USD/PHP

The majority of services stay away from the mid-market rate as such. Instead they shift the rate in their own favour and keep the difference. This is known as the spread. With a 2% markup, for instance, for every 100 USD you convert, about 2 USD worth disappears before the money arrives.

Next to that markup, a lot of services add a visible fee. It may be a flat charge per payment, a share of what you send or a mix of both. With international bank payments the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, so the recipient gets less than you expected.

Take a close look at services that advertise free transfers. In many cases the margin in the rate simply does the work of the fee. The reliable test is the final PHP figure for an identical USD amount, and that is the figure our table ranks on.

Practical ways to save on USD/PHP

Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive when the margin is high. The fairest figure to compare is the amount received, and that already includes both margin and fee.

When you pay by card abroad, you may be asked whether to pay in USD or in the local currency. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. It usually comes with a steep markup. Choose the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.

Watch the timing as well. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. If you are not in a hurry, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. It takes the guesswork out, but the target may never be reached.

Finally, look at how you pay. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, and a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Bundling smaller transfers reduces what you pay in flat fees.

Choosing a route to send PHP

With a classic international transfer, the bank sends the payment over the SWIFT network. Along the way one or more intermediary banks may handle it, and each can take a fee. Expect anything from one to a few working days, with the full cost not always known upfront.

Dedicated providers take another route. They have local accounts on both sides, so no money physically crosses the border: you pay in locally and the recipient is paid out locally. That is often faster and cheaper, and the amount that arrives is known in advance.

How fast a transfer really is depends on more than the provider: funding method, verification and holidays in the sending and receiving country. A first transfer can take longer because the provider has to verify your identity. Upload your documents early if timing is tight.

Sample calculation for 1,000.00 USD

Consider an amount of 1,000.00 USD. Using the reference rate of 63.6768, you can work out the upper limit of what the recipient could get. In reality every provider keeps something, because margins and fees come off first.

Of the 9 providers we compared, Wise gave the best result and paid out 63,361.56 PHP after all costs. The gap between 63,361.56 PHP and the theoretical maximum is the real price of the transfer.

Note that rankings shift with the amount you send. A flat fee hurts most when the amount is small, while a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Enter your own amount in the converter for a ranking that fits your situation.

Where you pay with USD and PHP

US Dollar is the legal tender in United States, Ecuador, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Panama. Philippine Peso is used in Philippines. This matters when you plan a trip, pay an invoice or send money to family.

There are plenty of everyday reasons to convert USD to PHP: moving abroad, studying, doing business or sending a gift. What suits one case may not suit another: a single big transfer benefits most from a sharp rate, whereas frequent smaller payments suffer more from flat charges.

Payout methods vary from country to country. Account formats differ: IBAN in one place, account and routing numbers in another, and in some places payout to a mobile wallet is the norm. Ask the recipient for the exact details in advance.
