XAG to MXN at a glance
The page you are reading follows the price relationship between Silver (XAG) and Mexican Peso (MXN) and sets it next to the cost of an actual conversion at a range of providers. As of October 31, 2026, one XAG is worth 929.7241 MXN, while one MXN is worth 0.00107559 XAG.
The rate shown above is the interbank mid rate. It is the midpoint between the price at which large banks buy XAG and the price at which they sell it. Think of it as the cleanest reference you can get: no fee or margin is built in, so few consumer services pass it on unchanged.
What ends up on the MXN side depends on two separate costs: the margin a provider adds to that rate and the fee you see on the order screen. Further down we show how those costs are built up, show how they add up on a real amount and share simple habits to get closer to the mid-market rate when you swap Silver for Mexican Peso.
How our XAG/MXN comparison works
Every calculation begins with the mid-market rate of 929.7241. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, and work out how much MXN the recipient would end up with. In total 0 providers are included, ranked from most to least received.
We update the rates every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 31, 2026. The final price is always set by the provider itself, since markets keep moving.
We are not owned by any provider. Some of the links are affiliate links. They have no influence on the order: providers are sorted purely by how much MXN the recipient gets.
Tips for converting XAG to MXN
Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive if the rate is poor. The fairest figure to compare is how much MXN arrives for your XAG, which combines the markup and the fee.
When you pay by card abroad, you may be asked whether to pay in XAG or in the local currency. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. It tends to be among the most expensive ways to convert. Always opt to pay in the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.
Watch the timing as well. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. For transfers that can wait, you can set a target rate and let the provider convert only when it is reached. That avoids guessing, though there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
Also check how you fund the transfer. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, and funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Sending less often but in larger amounts means fixed charges hit you fewer times.
How providers price XAG to MXN
The majority of services will not give you the mid-market rate as such. Instead they quote a slightly worse rate and keep the difference. This is known as the exchange rate margin. A markup of 2%, for example, means that for every 100 XAG you convert, about 2 XAG worth disappears before the money arrives.
On top of the margin, most banks charge an explicit fee. This is usually a flat charge per payment, a share of what you send or both at once. On classic bank transfers abroad the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, and those only show up at the end.
Look twice at services that advertise free transfers. In many cases the margin in the rate simply does the work of the fee. What really counts is the total amount that arrives in MXN for an identical XAG amount, which is how the table above is sorted.
One year of XAG to MXN
Across the last year, the price of XAG in MXN has changed by -31.02%. Within those twelve months the highest level was 1,556.64 MXN per XAG, and the low point came in at 929.7241. Today’s rate of 929.7241 can be measured against those two levels.
The spread between the year’s extremes puts the movement into real terms. When you convert a substantial sum, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, even when the fee stays the same.
Exchange rates respond to central bank policy, economic data and shifts in risk appetite. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If timing matters to you, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.
How the XAG/MXN precious metal price works
Precious metals are quoted per troy ounce, slightly heavier than a regular ounce, at around 31.1 grams. The codes XAU, XAG, XPT and XPD stand for gold, silver, platinum and palladium, which is why they appear here like any other currency. The figure above refers to one troy ounce.
That figure is the spot price: the market price for big bars traded between dealers. Retail products carry a premium above that price, to pay for production, distribution and the seller’s margin. Selling back typically happens below the spot price.
You can own precious metals in several forms. Storing metal at home brings its own risks and costs. An allocated vault account costs a yearly fee, with the metal registered to you. Paper products track the price but do not always give you physical metal.
Check how tax applies as well. In the EU, investment gold is generally exempt from VAT, while silver usually is not. We show prices, not investment advice.
Larger transfers: what to check first
Only use providers that are regulated. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own.
Double-check the recipient details before you confirm. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Unexpected changes to payment details are a classic warning sign. Verify through a channel you trust.
Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, such as a payslip, sale agreement or bank statement. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.
