The XAU/BNB exchange rate at a glance

This overview brings together the price relationship between Gold (XAU) and BNB (BNB) and compares it with the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. As of October 31, 2026, one XAU is worth 5.4870 BNB, and 1 BNB equals 0.182248 XAU.

The rate shown above is the interbank mid rate. It sits exactly halfway between the price at which large banks buy XAU and the price at which they sell it. Think of it as a neutral benchmark: it contains no profit margin and no fees, which is exactly why few consumer services pass it on unchanged.

The amount that lands in the other account comes down to two things: the margin a provider adds to that rate and any fixed or percentage fee. In the sections below we take those costs apart, show how they add up on a real amount and share simple habits to keep more of your money when converting XAU to BNB.

How our XAU/BNB comparison works

Every calculation begins with the mid-market rate of 5.4870. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, and work out how much BNB the recipient would end up with. The comparison covers 0 providers, placed side by side.

We update the rates every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 31, 2026. The final price is always set by the provider itself, and it can differ slightly from our calculation.

We are not owned by any provider. We may earn a commission through some links. That never changes the ranking: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.

Safety checks before you convert XAU to BNB

Check the provider’s licence first. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own and that offers protection if the company fails.

Check names and account details twice. An international payment is hard to reverse once it is sent. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details. Verify through a channel you trust.

Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, like a statement or a sales contract. For big amounts it can pay to ask for a better rate. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.

Mid-market rate versus the rate you get

Most providers stay away from the rate of 5.4870 itself. Instead they shift the rate in their own favour and keep the difference. This is known as the markup. A markup of 2%, for example, means that for every 100 XAU you convert, about 2 XAU worth disappears before the money arrives.

Besides the hidden margin, most banks ask for a separate fee. It may be a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or a mix of both. With international bank payments the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, which shrinks the amount that finally arrives.

Take a close look at offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". The cost often sits in the rate instead. The reliable test is the final BNB figure for an identical XAU amount, and that is the figure our table ranks on.

What to know about XAU/BNB on crypto platforms

Crypto prices differ from platform to platform. On a trading platform, there is a gap between the buy and sell price, the spread, and a commission per trade. Simple broker apps often show one price with the margin already included.

Withdrawing crypto from a platform, there is a separate network charge. It is often a fixed amount regardless of the size of the transfer, so for small amounts it can be a large share. Double-check the network before you send: coins sent over the wrong network can be lost.

Volatility is much higher than with regular currencies. A quote is often only valid for a short moment, and on large orders the execution price can slip. Use the rate here as a guide, not as a binding quote.

Think about custody as well. If you leave crypto on a platform, the platform controls it, whereas a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Check that a platform is registered or licensed with a financial regulator where you live.

Reading a gold or silver price

Precious metals are quoted per troy ounce, equal to roughly 31.1 grams. XAU is the code for gold, XAG for silver, XPT for platinum and XPD for palladium, so the metal behaves like one side of a currency pair. The figure above refers to one troy ounce.

What you see is the spot price: the market price for big bars traded between dealers. Retail products carry a premium above that price, because of manufacturing and dealer costs. The buyback price is normally lower than spot.

You can own precious metals in several forms. Keeping coins or bars yourself means arranging storage and insurance. An allocated vault account charges an annual fee but keeps the metal in your name. Funds and certificates follow the price without you owning a bar directly.

Tax rules also differ. Within the EU investment gold usually carries no VAT, unlike most silver. This page shows the price and does not tell you whether to buy or sell.

Tips for converting XAU to BNB

Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive because the margin can make up the difference. The fairest figure to compare is the amount received, which combines margin and fee.

At foreign tills and cash machines, you may be asked whether to pay in XAU or in the local currency. This is called dynamic currency conversion. It usually comes with a steep markup. Choose the local currency and the conversion follows your card’s own terms.

Timing can also matter. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. When there is no deadline, a rate alert or limit order lets you convert automatically once XAU/BNB reaches a level you choose. That avoids guessing, but the target may never be reached.

The payment method matters as well. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, and funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Bundling smaller transfers also cuts the impact of fixed fees.

Gold against BNB: the last twelve months

Over the past twelve months, the XAU/BNB rate moved by -28.47%. During that year the rate peaked at 8.9031 BNB per XAU, while the low point came in at 5.2132. At 5.4870, the rate today can be measured against those two levels.

The distance between the high and the low is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. For a bigger amount, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, occasionally more than the difference between providers.

The rate reflects news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If timing matters to you, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.
