XAU to LTC: what you are looking at

The page you are reading tracks the exchange rate between Gold (XAU) and Litecoin (LTC), together with the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. As of October 31, 2026, one XAU is worth 70.5566 LTC, while a single LTC comes to 0.014173 XAU.

The rate shown above is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It is calculated as the middle of the price at which large banks buy XAU and the price at which they sell it. It works as a fair reference point: no fee or margin is built in, so you rarely get it as a private customer.

What ends up on the LTC side comes down to two separate costs: the margin a provider adds to that rate and the fee you see on the order screen. Further down we explain how those costs work, look at what a conversion costs in practice and give concrete ways to keep more of your money when converting XAU to LTC.

Practical ways to save on XAU/LTC

Look at the final amount, not just the fee. A small fee on its own says little because the margin can make up the difference. The number that matters is the amount received, which combines the markup and the fee.

When you pay by card abroad, you can get a choice between your own currency and the local one. This is called dynamic currency conversion. The rate used is usually poor. Always opt to pay in the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.

Timing can also matter. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. For transfers that can wait, you can set a target rate and let the provider convert only when it is reached. It saves you from checking the rate every day, but there is no guarantee the rate will get there.

Also check how you fund the transfer. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, while a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Bundling smaller transfers means fixed charges hit you fewer times.

How providers price XAU to LTC

The majority of services do not convert at the rate of 70.5566 as such. Instead they offer a rate that is a little less favourable and pocket the gap. This is known as the markup. A markup of 2%, for example, means that about 2 out of every 100 XAU never reach the recipient.

Besides the hidden margin, a lot of services add a visible fee. This is usually a flat charge per payment, a share of what you send or both at once. For transfers sent through the banking network the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, and those only show up at the end.

Be wary of anything sold as commission-free. The cost often sits in the rate instead. The reliable test is the final LTC figure for the same amount of XAU, which is how the table above is sorted.

How the XAU/LTC precious metal price works

Gold and silver prices are expressed per troy ounce, which is about 31.1 grams. In currency notation, gold is XAU, silver XAG, platinum XPT and palladium XPD, and they are treated like a currency in this pair. The rate shown is the price of one troy ounce.

That figure is the spot price: the market price for big bars traded between dealers. Coins and small bars cost more than spot, because of manufacturing and dealer costs. When you sell, dealers usually pay somewhat below spot.

You can own precious metals in several forms. Physical metal at home needs safe storage and insurance. Professional storage charges an annual fee but keeps the metal in your name. Exchange-traded products give exposure to the price, not always to the metal itself.

Check how tax applies as well. Across the EU, investment gold is normally VAT-free, but silver is generally taxed. We show prices, not investment advice.

Gold against Litecoin: the last twelve months

Compared with a year ago, the exchange rate moved by -21.54%. During that year the rate peaked at 105.3196 LTC per XAU, while the lowest was 58.1261. The current 70.5566 is easy to place within that band.

The distance between the high and the low shows how much the rate can move in practice. On a large conversion, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, sometimes more than the choice of provider.

Rates are pushed around by interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If you want to act on a certain rate, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.

Why we compare total cost

Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, and work out how much LTC the recipient would end up with. We do this for 0 providers, ranked from most to least received.

We update the rates every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 31, 2026. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, and it can differ slightly from our calculation.

No bank, app or exchange owns GoldexPay. Some links on this page are affiliate links. They have no influence on the order: providers are sorted purely by how much LTC the recipient gets.

Safety checks before you convert XAU to LTC

Only use providers that are regulated. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own, which protects you if something goes wrong.

Double-check the recipient details before you confirm. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details: confirm by phone using a number you already know.

Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, like a statement or a sales contract. For big amounts it can pay to ask for a better rate. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.

Crypto spreads, network fees and custody

With crypto, the price you pay depends heavily on where you trade. On a trading platform, you pay the difference between bid and ask, plus a trading fee. Easy buy buttons in apps usually quote a single price that has the cost baked in.

When you move crypto to or from your own wallet, you pay a network or withdrawal fee. That fee does not depend on the amount, so it weighs more on small transactions. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.

Volatility is much higher than with regular currencies. A quote is often only valid for a short moment, while large trades risk slippage. The rate on this page is a reference point, not a guaranteed price.

Also decide who holds the keys. On a platform, someone else manages the private keys, whereas a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Use platforms that are registered with the regulator in your country.
