Binance or BLOX: a side-by-side cost check
Deciding between Binance and BLOX comes down to more than the brand name. The useful question is how much ends up on the other side once the fee and the rate markup are added up. That is the gap we measure here.
In our comparison, Binance belongs to the crypto exchange category and handles Currencies, Cryptocurrencies, while BLOX is filed under crypto exchange and covers Currencies, Cryptocurrencies. This already says something about when one can stand in for the other.
Under the calculator and the scenario table we walk through how we work out the cost, what each one is good at and who should pick which. Rates on this page are live, so today’s result is not set in stone.
Comparing two crypto exchanges
Crypto exchanges price their service in several layers. There is the spread, the gap between the buy and sell price, which you pay on instant purchases. If you use the order book, maker and taker fees replace the spread as the main cost.
Then there are deposit and withdrawal costs. Bank transfers are often a cheap way in, while card deposits usually cost more. Withdrawing coins to your own wallet comes with a network or withdrawal fee that varies per asset.
And then there is the question of who holds your coins. Coins on an exchange are held by that exchange, not by you. Many users move larger holdings to a wallet they control, which makes the withdrawal fee part of the real cost.
Which one is cheaper?: Binance wins on cost
For 3 out of 3 comparisons that both providers offer, Binance came out cheaper at live rates. That gives Binance the edge for most typical transfers.
This does not rule out BLOX. Scroll back to the table to find where BLOX comes out ahead. If your currency pair and amount are among them, the overall tally matters a lot less.
Cost is one thing, not everything. Speed, limits and the way you pay in can tip the balance toward BLOX. A few cents on a small transfer rarely beat that kind of convenience.
Why “zero fee” is not always cheap
Plenty of services advertise a zero fee. If the exchange rate you get is worse than the mid-market rate, you pay through the rate instead. On a large amount, a small margin can add up to more than a fixed fee would.
For this reason our comparison combines the fee and the rate margin into one number. Binance and BLOX may structure their pricing differently, one with a visible fee and a tight rate, the other with no fee and a wider spread. What counts is what lands in the account at the end.
Other costs can matter too: weekend surcharges, card fees, charges by the receiving bank or withdrawal fees on crypto. Some of these sit outside what we can measure, so check the provider’s fee page before a big transfer.
Safety checks before you sign up
Price matters, but so does knowing your money is handled properly. Look for a licence or registration with a financial regulator in your country or region. You can usually find the licence details in the footer or legal section of the provider’s website.
An important question is safeguarding: customer funds should be kept separate from the company’s own money, so they are protected if the company runs into trouble. Note that safeguarding differs from a bank deposit guarantee.
For crypto exchanges the questions are similar, but not the same: ask about registration, custody and withdrawal options. And on any platform: turn on 2FA and never reuse passwords.
Small amounts vs large amounts
Who comes out ahead can flip as the amount grows. A fixed fee weighs heavily on a small transfer but barely registers on a large one. Our scenario table reflects this by testing several amounts.
If you move larger sums regularly, check whether tiered pricing applies, something our standard scenarios do not always capture. Before a big transfer with Binance or BLOX, read the current pricing on their site.
Like for like: Binance and BLOX
Both Binance and BLOX sit in the crypto exchange category, so they compete for the same customers. They solve the same problem, so price, speed and coverage decide.
Check the basics: which currencies or assets each one supports, and which countries you can send to or from. Binance covers Currencies, Cryptocurrencies, BLOX covers Currencies, Cryptocurrencies. A small gap in coverage can matter more than a small price difference.
Beyond coverage, the cheapest option on your own route wins, along with practical matters such as the app and customer service. Because they are so similar, trying the other one later costs little.
Speed: Binance vs BLOX
Binance lists its quickest option as Instant, while BLOX lists Instant. Treat these as the best case rather than a promise. A first transfer often takes longer because of identity checks.
How you fund a transfer makes a big difference. Faster funding options can come with a higher fee, so check the total in the calculator. When there is no rush, a slower option can save you money.
Convenience counts too: how easy the app is, whether you can track a transfer and how fast support responds. A small test transfer tells you more than any review.
Can you use Binance and BLOX together?
Using two providers side by side is common. A second account gives you a backup and an easy price check. Signing up rarely costs anything, but verification is not always instant.
Each time you plan a bigger conversion, compare live quotes here first, as the result depends on the moment and the sum. That small habit can save more than any loyalty bonus.
Before you close an account, make sure no balance or scheduled transfer is left behind and save your statements, as you may need them later for your tax return.
Who should pick Binance and who BLOX?
If you mainly spend abroad on holiday, focus on card payments and cash withdrawals rather than bank transfers. Whichever of the two offers a usable card for your destination has a head start.
To send money to a bank account abroad, the total cost per transfer and the delivery time are what count. For large amounts, such as a house deposit or tuition, even a small margin difference adds up, and limits and verification matter as well.
When buying crypto, check that crypto is supported at all, then compare spreads and withdrawal fees. Business users often need other features, such as multiple users and bulk payments. Nothing here is investment advice.
Our method
There are two parts to the price of any conversion: the fee you see and the markup on the rate that you often do not. Our yardstick is the mid-market rate: the midpoint between what the market bids and asks. That gap is the margin, which we add to the fee to get the total cost.
Each conversion is checked with several sample amounts since a fixed fee hurts more on small sums. We update rates every 30 minutes and take fees from each provider’s public price list. Promotions, account tiers and personal discounts are not always included, so your own offer may differ.
GoldexPay is independent. Affiliate links help pay for the site, but the ranking is based on cost alone. The numbers decide, not the commission.
