ADA to XAG: what you are looking at
This page brings together the exchange rate between Cardano (ADA) and Silver (XAG) and compares it with what real providers charge to convert one into the other. As of October 30, 2026, one ADA is worth 0.00384586 XAG, and 1 XAG is worth 260.0199 ADA.
The rate shown above is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It is the midpoint between the price at which large banks buy ADA and the price at which they sell it. Treat it as a fair reference point: nobody earns anything on it directly, and that is why few consumer services pass it on unchanged.
The amount that lands in the other account depends on two separate costs: the margin a provider adds to that rate and the fee you see on the order screen. Below the converter and chart we take those costs apart, put them side by side and list practical steps to keep more of your money when you swap Cardano for Silver.
Troy ounces, spot price and premiums
The standard unit for metals is the troy ounce, which is about 31.1 grams. The codes XAU, XAG, XPT and XPD stand for gold, silver, platinum and palladium, so the metal behaves like one side of a currency pair. One unit in this pair means one troy ounce.
What you see is the spot price: the wholesale price for immediate delivery of large bars. Buy a coin or small bar and you pay a premium on top, covering minting, handling and the dealer’s margin. When you sell, dealers usually pay somewhat below spot.
There are different ways to hold metal. Keeping coins or bars yourself means arranging storage and insurance. Vault storage through a dealer charges an annual fee but keeps the metal in your name. Paper products track the price but do not always give you physical metal.
Check how tax applies as well. Across the EU, investment gold is normally VAT-free, but silver is generally taxed. This page shows the price and does not tell you whether to buy or sell.
Getting the most XAG for your ADA
Look at the final amount, not just the fee. A small fee on its own says little when the margin is high. What you want to know is the amount received, which combines margin and fee.
At foreign tills and cash machines, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. It tends to be among the most expensive ways to convert. Choose the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.
Timing can also matter. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. When there is no deadline, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. It takes the guesswork out, though the target may never be reached.
Also check how you fund the transfer. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, and a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Bundling smaller transfers also cuts the impact of fixed fees.
Before you send: security and large amounts
Check the provider’s licence first. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own and that offers protection if the company fails.
Verify every detail of the recipient. An international payment is hard to reverse once it is sent. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details. Call to confirm, using contact details you already had.
For large amounts, expect extra checks. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, like a statement or a sales contract. Some services offer better rates or a personal contact for larger transfers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.
Recent movement in the ADA/XAG rate
Over the past twelve months, the ADA/XAG rate has changed by +9.96%. During that year the rate peaked at 0.00447640 XAG for one ADA, and the low point came in at 0.00229709. The current 0.00384586 is easy to place within that band.
The distance between the high and the low is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. On a large conversion, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
The rate reflects interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. The statistics here are historical, not a forecast. If timing matters to you, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.
Mid-market rate versus the rate you get
Most providers will not give you the mid-market rate itself. They shift the rate in their own favour and earn on the difference. That gap is called the markup. With a 2% markup, for instance, for every 100 ADA you convert, about 2 ADA worth disappears before the money arrives.
On top of the margin, a lot of services charge an explicit fee. It may be a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or both at once. On classic bank transfers abroad extra deductions can follow, and those only show up at the end.
Be wary of anything sold as commission-free. Free usually means the price is built into the exchange rate. The reliable test is the final XAG figure for an identical ADA amount, which is how the table above is sorted.
About this comparison
We start from the live mid-market rate for ADA/XAG. Each provider’s published fee and markup are applied on top, to calculate what actually arrives in XAG. In total 0 providers are included, so you can see the differences at a glance.
We update the rates every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 30, 2026. The final price is always set by the provider itself, because their rate can move between our updates, especially when markets are busy.
We are not owned by any provider. Some of the links are affiliate links, which help fund our work. They have no influence on the order: providers are sorted purely by how much XAG the recipient gets.
What to know about ADA/XAG on crypto platforms
Where you convert matters a lot with crypto. On a trading platform, there is a gap between the buy and sell price, the spread, on top of a maker or taker fee. Simple broker apps often show one price which hides a wider spread.
Withdrawing crypto from a platform, a network fee applies. It is unrelated to how much you move, which makes small withdrawals relatively expensive. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.
Crypto prices can move sharply within minutes. Quoted prices tend to expire quickly, while large trades risk slippage. Treat the figure above as an indication.
Think about custody as well. On a platform, someone else manages the private keys, whereas a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Use platforms that are registered with the regulator in your country.
