ETH to BTC at a glance

The page you are reading brings together the rate for Ethereum (ETH) and Bitcoin (BTC) and sets it next to the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. On October 30, 2026, 1 ETH buys 0.029212 BTC, and one BTC is worth 34.2320 ETH.

The figure at the top is the interbank mid rate. It is the midpoint between the buying and selling prices on the wholesale market. Think of it as a fair reference point: no fee or margin is built in, so consumers almost never receive it in full.

What ends up on the BTC side is shaped by two things: the margin a provider adds to that rate and any fixed or percentage fee. Below the converter and chart we show how those costs are built up, look at what a conversion costs in practice and share simple habits to keep more of your money when converting ETH to BTC.

Mid-market rate versus the rate you get

The majority of services do not convert at the rate of 0.029212 itself. They offer a rate that is a little less favourable and earn on the difference. People call this the spread. With a 2% markup, for instance, you lose roughly 2 ETH on every 100 ETH, without it ever appearing as a fee.

On top of the margin, a lot of services ask for a separate fee. That can be a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or a mix of both. On classic bank transfers abroad the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, so the recipient gets less than you expected.

Be wary of offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". The cost often sits in the rate instead. The only fair way to compare is the total amount that arrives in BTC for the same amount of ETH, and that is the figure our table ranks on.

Converting ETH to BTC as a crypto pair

With crypto, the price you pay depends heavily on where you trade. On a trading platform, you pay the difference between bid and ask, on top of a maker or taker fee. Easy buy buttons in apps usually quote a single price which hides a wider spread.

When you move crypto to or from your own wallet, there is a separate network charge. That fee does not depend on the amount, which makes small withdrawals relatively expensive. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.

The price of a crypto asset can swing hard in a short time. A displayed price may be fixed only for a few seconds, and big orders can fill at a worse price than shown. The rate on this page is a reference point, not a guaranteed price.

Custody is another point to consider. If you leave crypto on a platform, the platform controls it, while a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Use platforms that are registered with the regulator in your country.

About this comparison

We start from the live mid-market rate for ETH/BTC. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, to calculate what actually arrives in BTC. We do this for 20 providers, ranked from most to least received.

We update the rates every 30 minutes, with October 30, 2026 as the reference date. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, and it can differ slightly from our calculation.

GoldexPay is independent. Some of the links are affiliate links. They have no influence on the order: providers are sorted purely by how much BTC the recipient gets.

Sending a larger amount from ETH to BTC

Only use providers that are regulated. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own and that offers protection if the company fails.

Check names and account details twice. An international payment is hard to reverse once it is sent. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details. Call to confirm, using contact details you already had.

Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, like a statement or a sales contract. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.

Tips for converting ETH to BTC

Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A low headline fee proves nothing if the rate is poor. The number that matters is the BTC amount after every cost, which combines margin and fee.

At foreign tills and cash machines, you may be asked whether to pay in ETH or in the local currency. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. It usually comes with a steep markup. Pick the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.

Timing can also matter. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. When there is no deadline, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. It saves you from checking the rate every day, but the target may never be reached.

Finally, look at how you pay. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, and funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer means fixed charges hit you fewer times.

What 0.5000 ETH gets you in BTC

Let’s use an amount of 0.5000 ETH. Using the reference rate of 0.029212, you can work out the upper limit of what any provider could deliver in BTC. No service pays out that exact figure, because margins and fees come off first.

Looking at all 20 providers we track, Crypto.com delivered the most, with 0.0146 BTC in the end. Whatever is missing compared with the mid-market amount shows the true cost, fees and margin combined.

Note that the cheapest provider for 0.5000 ETH is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, while a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Run your own figure through the converter for a ranking that fits your situation.

Recent movement in the ETH/BTC rate

Compared with a year ago, the price of ETH in BTC moved by -17.65%. During that year the rate peaked at 0.036128 BTC per ETH, and the low point came in at 0.025778. The current 0.029212 sits somewhere inside that range.

That range between high and low is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. For a bigger amount, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, even when the fee stays the same.

Rates are pushed around by central bank policy, economic data and shifts in risk appetite. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If you want to act on a certain rate, a rate alert is a calmer option than trying to predict the market.
