The INR/SGD exchange rate at a glance

This page tracks the rate for Indian Rupee (INR) and Singapore Dollar (SGD), together with the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. At the latest update on October 31, 2026, 1 INR buys 0.013459 SGD, and a single SGD comes to 74.3011 INR.

The figure at the top is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It is the midpoint between the price at which large banks buy INR and the price at which they sell it. It works as a neutral benchmark: no fee or margin is built in, so you rarely get it as a private customer.

What you actually receive is shaped by two separate costs: the margin a provider adds to that rate and any fixed or percentage fee. Below the converter and chart we show how those costs are built up, put them side by side and list practical steps to lose less on the exchange when you change INR into SGD.

The countries behind INR and SGD

Indian Rupee is the currency of India. Singapore Dollar is the official currency of Singapore. This matters for anyone who earns in one of these currencies and spends in the other.

People convert INR to SGD for many reasons: rent or a mortgage abroad, tuition fees, a salary paid in another currency, savings or a holiday. What suits one case may not suit another: a one-off large payment benefits most from a sharp rate, while frequent smaller payments suffer more from flat charges.

Payout methods vary from country to country. Account formats differ: IBAN in one place, account and routing numbers in another, and in some places payout to a mobile wallet is the norm. Ask the recipient for the exact details in advance.

The INR/SGD rate over twelve months

Across the last year, the price of INR in SGD shows a change of -8.25%. During that year the highest level was 0.014745 SGD per INR, while the low point came in at 0.013226. Today’s rate of 0.013459 is easy to place within that band.

The distance between the high and the low puts the movement into real terms. For a bigger amount, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, occasionally more than the difference between providers.

Exchange rates respond to news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If timing matters to you, a rate alert is a calmer option than trying to predict the market.

Sample calculation for 100,000.00 INR

Consider a conversion of 100,000.00 INR. Using the reference rate of 0.013459, you can work out the upper limit of what the recipient could get. No service pays out that exact figure, since the margin and fees are taken out along the way.

Of the 9 providers we compared, Wise gave the best result and paid out 1,339.24 SGD in the end. Whatever is missing compared with the mid-market amount is the real price of the transfer.

Note that the cheapest provider for 100,000.00 INR is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, whereas the margin in the rate becomes the bigger cost on larger transfers. Try your actual amount in the calculator above to see the ranking that applies to you.

How INR to SGD transfers travel

A traditional bank sends your payment through SWIFT. The money can pass through one or more correspondent banks, each of which can deduct a charge. Expect anything from one to a few working days, and the final deduction is often only visible afterwards.

Specialised transfer services often work differently. They hold balances in both currencies, which means your payment and the payout both happen domestically. The result tends to be quicker and less expensive, with the final SGD amount fixed upfront.

Delivery time depends on several factors: funding method, verification and holidays in the sending and receiving country. New customers sometimes wait a little longer as the provider completes its checks. Finish verification in advance when a deadline is involved.

How to get a better INR to SGD rate

Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A low headline fee proves nothing if the rate is poor. What you want to know is the amount received, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.

If you pay or withdraw cash in a SGD country, you can get a choice between your own currency and the local one. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. The rate used is usually poor. Choose the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.

Timing plays a role too. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. If you are not in a hurry, you can set a target rate and let the provider convert only when it is reached. That avoids guessing, but the target may never be reached.

Finally, look at how you pay. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, while a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Sending less often but in larger amounts means fixed charges hit you fewer times.

Where the cost of converting INR to SGD hides

The majority of services do not convert at the mid-market rate itself. They offer a rate that is a little less favourable and earn on the difference. This is known as the markup. With a 2% markup, for instance, about 2 out of every 100 INR never reach the recipient.

Next to that markup, many providers charge an explicit fee. It may be a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or a mix of both. For transfers sent through the banking network the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, and those only show up at the end.

Be wary of services that advertise free transfers. Free usually means the price is built into the exchange rate. The reliable test is how much SGD the recipient ends up with for an identical INR amount, and the comparison table on this page is ranked on exactly that.

Sending a larger amount from INR to SGD

Make sure the provider is licensed. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own and that offers protection if the company fails.

Check names and account details twice. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Unexpected changes to payment details are a classic warning sign. Call to confirm, using contact details you already had.

Larger transfers often come with additional questions. You may need to show proof of the source of funds, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. For big amounts it can pay to ask for a better rate. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.

Why we compare total cost

We start from the live mid-market rate for INR/SGD. Each provider’s published fee and markup are applied on top, to calculate what actually arrives in SGD. The comparison covers 9 providers, placed side by side.

Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 31, 2026. The final price is always set by the provider itself, since markets keep moving, especially when markets are busy.

No bank, app or exchange owns GoldexPay. Some links on this page are affiliate links, which help fund our work. That never changes the ranking: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.
