Philippine Peso to British Pound explained

This overview brings together the exchange rate between Philippine Peso (PHP) and British Pound (GBP) and compares it with what real providers charge to convert one into the other. On October 30, 2026, one PHP is worth 0.011722 GBP, and one GBP equals 85.3131 PHP.

The rate shown above is the mid-market rate. It sits exactly halfway between the buying and selling prices on the wholesale market. Treat it as a neutral benchmark: nobody earns anything on it directly, so you rarely get it as a private customer.

What you actually receive depends on two things: a markup hidden in the exchange rate and the fee you see on the order screen. Further down we show how those costs are built up, look at what a conversion costs in practice and give concrete ways to keep more of your money when you change PHP into GBP.

The PHP/GBP rate over twelve months

Compared with a year ago, the PHP/GBP rate has changed by -9.27%. Within those twelve months the top of the range was 0.013063 GBP for one PHP, and the low point came in at 0.011722. At 0.011722, the rate today is easy to place within that band.

The spread between the year’s extremes shows how much the rate can move in practice. For a bigger amount, the moment you choose can make a noticeable difference to what arrives, occasionally more than the difference between providers.

Rates are pushed around by interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If timing matters to you, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.

Larger transfers: what to check first

Make sure the provider is licensed. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Regulated firms have to safeguard client funds and that offers protection if the company fails.

Check names and account details twice. An international payment is hard to reverse once it is sent. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details: confirm by phone using a number you already know.

For large amounts, expect extra checks. You may need to show proof of the source of funds, like a statement or a sales contract. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. Some also let you lock in a rate for a short period.

Example: converting 50,000.00 PHP

Let’s use a transfer of 50,000.00 PHP. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (0.011722), that marks the theoretical maximum of what any provider could deliver in GBP. In practice nobody hands over that full amount, since the margin and fees are taken out along the way.

Across the 8 providers in our comparison, Revolut came out cheapest for this amount and paid out 583.15 GBP after all costs. The difference between that figure and the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.

Note that rankings shift with the amount you send. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, while a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Enter your own amount in the converter for a ranking that fits your situation.

How PHP to GBP transfers travel

With a classic international transfer, the bank sends the payment through SWIFT. Along the way one or more intermediary banks may handle it, and each can take a fee. Expect anything from one to a few working days, and the exact cost is not always clear in advance.

Specialised transfer services often work differently. They keep money in accounts in both regions, so no money physically crosses the border: you pay in locally and the recipient is paid out locally. That is often faster and cheaper, and the amount that arrives is known in advance.

How fast a transfer really is depends on more than the provider: your payment method, cut-off times and public holidays on either side. A first transfer can take longer because the provider has to verify your identity. Upload your documents early if timing is tight.

Where you pay with PHP and GBP

Philippine Peso is the money you pay with in Philippines. British Pound is used in United Kingdom, Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey. Knowing this helps for anyone who earns in one of these currencies and spends in the other.

There are plenty of everyday reasons to convert PHP to GBP: moving abroad, studying, doing business or sending a gift. Not every situation needs the same solution: a single big transfer calls for the best rate, whereas regular small amounts suffer more from flat charges.

The way money is paid out also differs per country. Account formats differ: IBAN in one place, account and routing numbers in another and in certain countries mobile wallets or cash collection are widely used. Check which details the provider needs before you start.

Tips for converting PHP to GBP

Look at the final amount, not just the fee. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive because the margin can make up the difference. The number that matters is the amount received, and that already includes both margin and fee.

When you pay by card abroad, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. The rate used is usually poor. Pick the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.

Timing plays a role too. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. If you are not in a hurry, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. That avoids guessing, though the target may never be reached.

Finally, look at how you pay. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, while a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Bundling smaller transfers also cuts the impact of fixed fees.

How our PHP/GBP comparison works

Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, which gives the amount the recipient receives. We do this for 8 providers, ranked from most to least received.

The figures refresh every half hour, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, because their rate can move between our updates.

We are not owned by any provider. Some links on this page are affiliate links, which help pay for the site. They have no influence on the order: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.

What banks and apps really charge for PHP to GBP

Most providers stay away from the mid-market rate as such. Instead they shift the rate in their own favour and pocket the gap. This is known as the exchange rate margin. If the margin is 2%, then about 2 out of every 100 PHP never reach the recipient.

Besides the hidden margin, a lot of services add a visible fee. This is usually a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or both at once. For transfers sent through the banking network other banks along the route may take their own cut, which shrinks the amount that finally arrives.

Take a close look at offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". In many cases the margin in the rate simply does the work of the fee. The reliable test is the final GBP figure for an identical PHP amount, and the comparison table on this page is ranked on exactly that.
