Converting Polish Zloty into Brazilian Real: what you are looking at

The page you are reading brings together the exchange rate between Polish Zloty (PLN) and Brazilian Real (BRL) and sets it next to the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. As of October 31, 2026, 1 PLN buys 1.3779 BRL, and 1 BRL equals 0.725720 PLN.

The rate shown above is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It sits exactly halfway between the price at which large banks buy PLN and the price at which they sell it. It works as the cleanest reference you can get: nobody earns anything on it directly, so consumers almost never receive it in full.

What ends up on the BRL side is shaped by two things: the margin a provider adds to that rate and the fee you see on the order screen. Further down we explain how those costs work, put them side by side and share simple habits to lose less on the exchange when converting PLN to BRL.

Tips for converting PLN to BRL

Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A small fee on its own says little when the margin is high. The fairest figure to compare is how much BRL arrives for your PLN, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.

When you pay by card abroad, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. The rate used is usually poor. Always opt to pay in the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.

Timing can also matter. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. When there is no deadline, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. It takes the guesswork out, but there is no guarantee the rate will get there.

The payment method matters as well. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, while funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Sending less often but in larger amounts also cuts the impact of fixed fees.

Larger transfers: what to check first

Only use providers that are regulated. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Regulated firms have to safeguard client funds.

Verify every detail of the recipient. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details. Call to confirm, using contact details you already had.

For large amounts, expect extra checks. You may need to show proof of the source of funds, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. For big amounts it can pay to ask for a better rate. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.

Choosing a route to send BRL

A traditional bank sends your payment over the SWIFT network. The money can pass through one or more correspondent banks, and each can take a fee. It typically arrives within a few working days, and the final deduction is often only visible afterwards.

Many money transfer apps use a different model. They have local accounts on both sides, so your PLN stays in the PLN system and the recipient is paid in BRL from a local account. This usually cuts both time and cost, and you see exactly what will arrive before you confirm.

Delivery time depends on several factors: your payment method, cut-off times and public holidays on either side. A first transfer can take longer because the provider has to verify your identity. Upload your documents early if timing is tight.

PLN and BRL around the world

Polish Zloty is the legal tender in Poland. Brazilian Real is used in Brazil. That is useful to know when you plan a trip, pay an invoice or send money to family.

There are plenty of everyday reasons to convert PLN to BRL: rent or a mortgage abroad, tuition fees, a salary paid in another currency, savings or a holiday. Each situation asks for something different: a one-off large payment calls for the best rate, while regular small amounts are more sensitive to fixed fees.

The way money is paid out also differs per country. Depending on the country, you need an IBAN, a local account number or a mobile wallet, and in some places cash pickup or mobile money is common. Have the recipient’s full details ready before you begin.

One year of PLN to BRL

Across the last year, the exchange rate has changed by -5.66%. During that year the rate peaked at 1.5560 BRL for one PLN, and the lowest was 1.2727. The current 1.3779 is easy to place within that band.

The spread between the year’s extremes is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. When you convert a substantial sum, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, occasionally more than the difference between providers.

Rates are pushed around by central bank policy, economic data and shifts in risk appetite. The statistics here are historical, not a forecast. If timing matters to you, a rate alert is a calmer option than trying to predict the market.

What 5,000.00 PLN gets you in BRL

Let’s use an amount of 5,000.00 PLN. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (1.3779), that marks the theoretical maximum of what any provider could deliver in BRL. In reality every provider keeps something, as costs are deducted somewhere in the process.

Across the 9 providers in our comparison, Wise delivered the most: the recipient gets 6,856.26 BRL after all costs. The gap between 6,856.26 BRL and the theoretical maximum is what the conversion actually cost you.

Keep in mind that a different amount can produce a different winner. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, while a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Enter your own amount in the converter and check whether the order changes.

Exchange rate markup and fees on PLN/BRL

Most providers stay away from the mid-market rate itself. They offer a rate that is a little less favourable and pocket the gap. This is known as the exchange rate margin. A markup of 2%, for example, means that for every 100 PLN you convert, about 2 PLN worth disappears before the money arrives.

Besides the hidden margin, many providers ask for a separate fee. It may be a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or both at once. On classic bank transfers abroad extra deductions can follow, so the recipient gets less than you expected.

Look twice at services that advertise free transfers. In many cases the margin in the rate simply does the work of the fee. The reliable test is how much BRL the recipient ends up with for an identical PLN amount, which is how the table above is sorted.

How our PLN/BRL comparison works

Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. We then apply each provider’s published fees and exchange rate margin, which gives the amount the recipient receives. We do this for 9 providers, so you can see the differences at a glance.

We update the rates every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 31, 2026. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, and it can differ slightly from our calculation, especially when markets are busy.

GoldexPay is independent. Some links on this page are affiliate links, which help fund our work. They have no influence on the order: providers are sorted purely by how much BRL the recipient gets.
