PLN to THB at a glance
This page tracks the exchange rate between Polish Zloty (PLN) and Thai Baht (THB) and sets it next to the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. At the latest update on October 31, 2026, 1 PLN equals 8.5582 THB, and a single THB comes to 0.116847 PLN.
The figure at the top is the mid-market rate. It sits exactly halfway between what wholesale traders pay for PLN and what they ask for it. Treat it as a fair reference point: nobody earns anything on it directly, so few consumer services pass it on unchanged.
What ends up on the THB side is shaped by two things: the gap between the provider’s rate and the mid-market rate and the visible transfer or service fee. Further down we show how those costs are built up, look at what a conversion costs in practice and share simple habits to lose less on the exchange when converting PLN to THB.
What banks and apps really charge for PLN to THB
Most providers will not give you the rate of 8.5582 as such. They offer a rate that is a little less favourable and keep the difference. That gap is called the spread. A markup of 2%, for example, means that you lose roughly 2 PLN on every 100 PLN, without it ever appearing as a fee.
Next to that markup, most banks ask for a separate fee. That can be a fixed amount per transfer, a share of what you send or both at once. With international bank payments the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, which shrinks the amount that finally arrives.
Look twice at services that advertise free transfers. The cost often sits in the rate instead. The only fair way to compare is how much THB the recipient ends up with for exactly the same sum, and the comparison table on this page is ranked on exactly that.
Choosing a route to send THB
A traditional bank sends your payment via the SWIFT system. The money can pass through one or more correspondent banks, each of which can deduct a charge. Expect anything from one to a few working days, and the exact cost is not always clear in advance.
Many money transfer apps use a different model. They have local accounts on both sides, which means your payment and the payout both happen domestically. The result tends to be quicker and less expensive, and the amount that arrives is known in advance.
Delivery time depends on several factors: your payment method, cut-off times and public holidays on either side. A first transfer can take longer as the provider completes its checks. Upload your documents early if the money has to arrive on a set date.
How our PLN/THB comparison works
Every calculation begins with the mid-market rate of 8.5582. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, which gives the amount the recipient receives. We do this for 9 providers, ranked from most to least received.
We update the rates every 30 minutes, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, because their rate can move between our updates.
We are not owned by any provider. Some of the links are affiliate links, which help fund our work. They have no influence on the order: the provider that delivers the most THB comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.
How to get a better PLN to THB rate
Look at the final amount, not just the fee. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive because the margin can make up the difference. What you want to know is how much THB arrives for your PLN, and that already includes both margin and fee.
When you pay by card abroad, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. It tends to be among the most expensive ways to convert. Choose the local currency and the conversion follows your card’s own terms.
Watch the timing as well. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. When there is no deadline, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. It saves you from checking the rate every day, though there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
The payment method matters as well. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, while funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer also cuts the impact of fixed fees.
Staying safe with bigger PLN to THB transfers
Check the provider’s licence first. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Regulated firms have to safeguard client funds, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Verify every detail of the recipient. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details. Call to confirm, using contact details you already had.
Larger transfers often come with additional questions. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, such as a payslip, sale agreement or bank statement. For big amounts it can pay to ask for a better rate. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.
Polish Zloty against Thai Baht: the last twelve months
Compared with a year ago, the exchange rate moved by -2.46%. During that year the highest level was 8.9870 THB per PLN, while the bottom of the range was 8.5426. The current 8.5582 can be measured against those two levels.
The spread between the year’s extremes puts the movement into real terms. On a large conversion, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, even when the fee stays the same.
Exchange rates respond to news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If you are waiting for a particular level, a rate alert is a calmer option than trying to predict the market.
Example: converting 5,000.00 PLN
Let’s use a conversion of 5,000.00 PLN. At the mid-market rate of 8.5582, that marks the theoretical maximum of what any provider could deliver in THB. In practice nobody hands over that full amount, as costs are deducted somewhere in the process.
Looking at all 9 providers we track, Wise came out cheapest for this amount, with 42,583.25 THB after all costs. Whatever is missing compared with the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.
Note that the cheapest provider for 5,000.00 PLN is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, whereas the margin in the rate becomes the bigger cost on larger transfers. Enter your own amount in the converter for a ranking that fits your situation.
Where Polish Zloty and Thai Baht are used
Polish Zloty is used in Poland. Thai Baht is what people pay with in Thailand. Knowing this helps if you travel, shop online abroad or support someone in another country.
There are plenty of everyday reasons to convert PLN to THB: paying suppliers, supporting relatives, buying property or simply travelling. Not every situation needs the same solution: a single big transfer benefits most from a sharp rate, whereas frequent smaller payments are more sensitive to fixed fees.
The way money is paid out also differs per country. Some recipients expect a bank account number with a local bank code, others an IBAN, and in some places mobile wallets or cash collection are widely used. Ask the recipient for the exact details in advance.
