The XRP/USDT exchange rate: what you are looking at
The page you are reading follows the rate for XRP (XRP) and Tether (USDT) and compares it with what real providers charge to convert one into the other. On October 30, 2026, 1 XRP buys 1.2512 USDT, while one USDT is worth 0.799241 XRP.
The figure at the top is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It sits exactly halfway between the buying and selling prices on the wholesale market. Treat it as a neutral benchmark: nobody earns anything on it directly, which is exactly why consumers almost never receive it in full.
What you actually receive comes down to two things: the margin a provider adds to that rate and any fixed or percentage fee. In the sections below we show how those costs are built up, look at what a conversion costs in practice and give concrete ways to get closer to the mid-market rate when converting XRP to USDT.
The XRP/USDT rate over twelve months
Compared with a year ago, the XRP/USDT rate shows a change of -50.92%. In that period the highest level was 2.5493 USDT per XRP, and the lowest was 0.993497. At 1.2512, the rate today is easy to place within that band.
The distance between the high and the low is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. When you convert a substantial sum, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, sometimes more than the choice of provider.
Exchange rates respond to news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. These figures describe the past and say nothing about what comes next. If you want to act on a certain rate, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.
Buying or selling crypto: XRP to USDT
Where you convert matters a lot with crypto. On a trading platform, you pay the difference between bid and ask, and a commission per trade. Easy buy buttons in apps usually quote a single price with the margin already included.
When you move crypto to or from your own wallet, you pay a network or withdrawal fee. It is unrelated to how much you move, so it weighs more on small transactions. Double-check the network before you send: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.
The price of a crypto asset can swing hard in a short time. A quote is often only valid for a short moment, and on large orders the execution price can slip. Treat the figure above as an indication.
Custody is another point to consider. If you leave crypto on a platform, the platform controls it, whereas self-custody means you alone can access, or lose, the funds. Check that a platform is registered or licensed with a financial regulator where you live.
Where the cost of converting XRP to USDT hides
Nearly every bank and app will not give you the mid-market rate as such. They shift the rate in their own favour and earn on the difference. This is known as the exchange rate margin. A markup of 2%, for example, means that for every 100 XRP you convert, about 2 XRP worth disappears before the money arrives.
Besides the hidden margin, most banks charge an explicit fee. That can be a fixed amount per transfer, a percentage of the amount or both at once. On classic bank transfers abroad the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, and those only show up at the end.
Be wary of anything sold as commission-free. Free usually means the price is built into the exchange rate. The reliable test is how much USDT the recipient ends up with for exactly the same sum, which is how the table above is sorted.
Safety checks before you convert XRP to USDT
Make sure the provider is licensed. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Regulated firms have to safeguard client funds, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Verify every detail of the recipient. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details. Verify through a channel you trust.
For large amounts, expect extra checks. You may need to show proof of the source of funds, like a statement or a sales contract. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.
Paying less when you change XRP into USDT
Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A low headline fee proves nothing when the margin is high. The number that matters is how much USDT arrives for your XRP, and that already includes both margin and fee.
When you pay by card abroad, you can get a choice between your own currency and the local one. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. The rate used is usually poor. Choose the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.
Timing can also matter. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. If you are not in a hurry, a rate alert or limit order lets you convert automatically once XRP/USDT reaches a level you choose. It takes the guesswork out, though there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
Also check how you fund the transfer. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, while funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer means fixed charges hit you fewer times.
How our XRP/USDT comparison works
Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. We then apply each provider’s published fees and exchange rate margin, and work out how much USDT the recipient would end up with. In total 20 providers are included, placed side by side.
The figures refresh every half hour, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, and it can differ slightly from our calculation.
We are not owned by any provider. Some of the links are affiliate links, which help pay for the site. The order is never affected by them: providers are sorted purely by how much USDT the recipient gets.
A worked example with 1,000.00 XRP
Let’s use a conversion of 1,000.00 XRP. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (1.2512), you can work out the upper limit of what is possible on the USDT side. In reality every provider keeps something, as costs are deducted somewhere in the process.
Of the 20 providers we compared, Crypto.com came out cheapest for this amount: the recipient gets 1,249.62 USDT at the time of our last update. The difference between that figure and the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.
Bear in mind that the cheapest provider for 1,000.00 XRP is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, whereas a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Run your own figure through the converter and check whether the order changes.
