Cardano to British Pound at a glance
This overview follows the exchange rate between Cardano (ADA) and British Pound (GBP) and sets it next to what real providers charge to convert one into the other. At the latest update on October 31, 2026, 1 ADA equals 0.143876 GBP, while 1 GBP is worth 6.9504 ADA.
The rate shown above is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It sits exactly halfway between the buying and selling prices on the wholesale market. It works as a fair reference point: it contains no profit margin and no fees, and that is why you rarely get it as a private customer.
The amount that lands in the other account depends on two things: the gap between the provider’s rate and the mid-market rate and any fixed or percentage fee. Below the converter and chart we explain how those costs work, put them side by side and list practical steps to get closer to the mid-market rate when converting ADA to GBP.
How GoldexPay compares ADA to GBP providers
Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, to calculate what actually arrives in GBP. In total 4 providers are included, ranked from most to least received.
Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. The final price is always set by the provider itself, since markets keep moving, especially when markets are busy.
GoldexPay is independent. Some of the links are affiliate links, which help pay for the site. They have no influence on the order: the provider that delivers the most GBP comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.
Sending a larger amount from ADA to GBP
Make sure the provider is licensed. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Verify every detail of the recipient. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Unexpected changes to payment details are a classic warning sign. Call to confirm, using contact details you already had.
Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. Some also let you lock in a rate for a short period.
Practical ways to save on ADA/GBP
Compare the total cost, not the fee alone. A small fee on its own says little because the margin can make up the difference. The fairest figure to compare is the amount received, which combines margin and fee.
When you pay by card abroad, you can get a choice between your own currency and the local one. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. It usually comes with a steep markup. Pick the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.
Watch the timing as well. Rates quoted on a Saturday or Sunday can include a weekend surcharge. If you are not in a hurry, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. It takes the guesswork out, but there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
Also check how you fund the transfer. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, while funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer means fixed charges hit you fewer times.
One year of ADA to GBP
Across the last year, the exchange rate shows a change of -68.61%. In that period the rate peaked at 0.467723 GBP for one ADA, while the lowest was 0.108583. The current 0.143876 can be measured against those two levels.
The distance between the high and the low is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. When you convert a substantial sum, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, sometimes more than the choice of provider.
Exchange rates respond to news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. These figures describe the past and say nothing about what comes next. If timing matters to you, a rate alert is a calmer option than trying to predict the market.
Where the cost of converting ADA to GBP hides
Nearly every bank and app do not convert at the mid-market rate itself. Instead they shift the rate in their own favour and keep the difference. That gap is called the spread. If the margin is 2%, then about 2 out of every 100 ADA never reach the recipient.
Next to that markup, most banks add a visible fee. It may be a flat charge per payment, a share of what you send or a mix of both. On classic bank transfers abroad the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, and those only show up at the end.
Take a close look at offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". In many cases the margin in the rate simply does the work of the fee. The only fair way to compare is the final GBP figure for an identical ADA amount, and that is the figure our table ranks on.
Buying or selling crypto: ADA to GBP
With crypto, the price you pay depends heavily on where you trade. On an exchange with an order book, you pay the difference between bid and ask, plus a trading fee. Simple broker apps often show one price that has the cost baked in.
When you move crypto to or from your own wallet, you pay a network or withdrawal fee. It is unrelated to how much you move, so it weighs more on small transactions. Double-check the network before you send: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.
The price of a crypto asset can swing hard in a short time. A quote is often only valid for a short moment, and big orders can fill at a worse price than shown. The rate on this page is a reference point, not a guaranteed price.
Custody is another point to consider. If you leave crypto on a platform, the platform controls it, whereas self-custody means you alone can access, or lose, the funds. Use platforms that are registered with the regulator in your country.
Example: converting 5,000.00 ADA
Consider a transfer of 5,000.00 ADA. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (0.143876), you can work out the upper limit of what any provider could deliver in GBP. No service pays out that exact figure, as costs are deducted somewhere in the process.
Of the 4 providers we compared, Kraken gave the best result and paid out 716.14 GBP at the time of our last update. Whatever is missing compared with the mid-market amount shows the true cost, fees and margin combined.
Note that the cheapest provider for 5,000.00 ADA is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, whereas a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Try your actual amount in the calculator above and check whether the order changes.
