Converting Ethereum into Solana explained
The page you are reading tracks the rate for Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) and compares it with the cost of an actual conversion at a range of providers. As of October 30, 2026, 1 ETH equals 23.6897 SOL, while 1 SOL is worth 0.042212 ETH.
The figure at the top is the mid-market rate. It sits exactly halfway between the price at which large banks buy ETH and the price at which they sell it. It works as a fair reference point: it contains no profit margin and no fees, and that is why you rarely get it as a private customer.
What you actually receive depends on two separate costs: a markup hidden in the exchange rate and the visible transfer or service fee. Below the converter and chart we show how those costs are built up, show how they add up on a real amount and share simple habits to keep more of your money when you change ETH into SOL.
Why we compare total cost
We start from the live mid-market rate for ETH/SOL. We then apply each provider’s published fees and exchange rate margin, and work out how much SOL the recipient would end up with. We do this for 20 providers, placed side by side.
We update the rates every 30 minutes, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, and it can differ slightly from our calculation, especially when markets are busy.
GoldexPay is independent. Some links on this page are affiliate links, which help pay for the site. The order is never affected by them: the provider that delivers the most SOL comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.
Practical ways to save on ETH/SOL
Look at the final amount, not just the fee. A small fee on its own says little if the rate is poor. The fairest figure to compare is the amount received, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.
When you pay by card abroad, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. It usually comes with a steep markup. Choose the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.
Watch the timing as well. Rates quoted on a Saturday or Sunday can include a weekend surcharge. When there is no deadline, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. It takes the guesswork out, though the target may never be reached.
Also check how you fund the transfer. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, while a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer reduces what you pay in flat fees.
What 0.5000 ETH gets you in SOL
Let’s use a conversion of 0.5000 ETH. At the mid-market rate of 23.6897, that marks the theoretical maximum of what is possible on the SOL side. In reality every provider keeps something, since the margin and fees are taken out along the way.
Across the 20 providers in our comparison, Crypto.com gave the best result and paid out 11.8300 SOL in the end. Whatever is missing compared with the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.
Note that a different amount can produce a different winner. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, while a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Try your actual amount in the calculator above and check whether the order changes.
Recent movement in the ETH/SOL rate
Compared with a year ago, the exchange rate moved by +17.80%. Within those twelve months the top of the range was 27.9025 SOL per ETH, and the lowest was 20.1100. The current 23.6897 can be measured against those two levels.
That range between high and low shows how much the rate can move in practice. When you convert a substantial sum, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, even when the fee stays the same.
Exchange rates respond to interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. These figures describe the past and say nothing about what comes next. If timing matters to you, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.
Before you send: security and large amounts
Only use providers that are regulated. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own.
Double-check the recipient details before you confirm. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details. Call to confirm, using contact details you already had.
Larger transfers often come with additional questions. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. Some also let you lock in a rate for a short period.
Where the cost of converting ETH to SOL hides
The majority of services do not convert at the rate of 23.6897 itself. They quote a slightly worse rate and keep the difference. People call this the markup. A markup of 2%, for example, means that for every 100 ETH you convert, about 2 ETH worth disappears before the money arrives.
Besides the hidden margin, most banks charge an explicit fee. That can be a fixed amount per transfer, a share of what you send or both at once. For transfers sent through the banking network extra deductions can follow, which shrinks the amount that finally arrives.
Take a close look at anything sold as commission-free. Free usually means the price is built into the exchange rate. What really counts is the final SOL figure for the same amount of ETH, and that is the figure our table ranks on.
What to know about ETH/SOL on crypto platforms
Where you convert matters a lot with crypto. On an exchange with an order book, there is a gap between the buy and sell price, the spread, on top of a maker or taker fee. Simple broker apps often show one price that has the cost baked in.
When you move crypto to or from your own wallet, a network fee applies. It is unrelated to how much you move, so it weighs more on small transactions. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: mistakes here are rarely reversible.
Volatility is much higher than with regular currencies. Quoted prices tend to expire quickly, while large trades risk slippage. Use the rate here as a guide, not as a binding quote.
Think about custody as well. On a platform, someone else manages the private keys, while in your own wallet you are fully responsible for the keys. Use platforms that are registered with the regulator in your country.
