Indian Rupee to Platinum: rate, costs and context
This page follows the exchange rate between Indian Rupee (INR) and Platinum (XPT), together with the cost of an actual conversion at a range of providers. At the latest update on October 31, 2026, 1 INR equals 0.0000073441 XPT, and a single XPT equals 136,163.58 INR.
That headline number is the mid-market rate. It is the midpoint between what wholesale traders pay for INR and what they ask for it. It works as a fair reference point: no fee or margin is built in, which is exactly why few consumer services pass it on unchanged.
The amount that lands in the other account depends on two separate costs: the margin a provider adds to that rate and any fixed or percentage fee. Below the converter and chart we explain how those costs work, show how they add up on a real amount and list practical steps to keep more of your money when converting INR to XPT.
The INR/XPT rate over twelve months
Compared with a year ago, the price of INR in XPT shows a change of +36.35%. Within those twelve months the rate peaked at 0.0000073441 XPT for one INR, while the bottom of the range was 0.0000045950. The current 0.0000073441 sits somewhere inside that range.
The spread between the year’s extremes shows how much the rate can move in practice. For a bigger amount, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, sometimes more than the choice of provider.
Rates are pushed around by interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. The statistics here are historical, not a forecast. If timing matters to you, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.
How to get a better INR to XPT rate
Look at the final amount, not just the fee. A low headline fee proves nothing when the margin is high. What you want to know is how much XPT arrives for your INR, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.
When you pay by card abroad, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. This is called dynamic currency conversion. It usually comes with a steep markup. Choose the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.
Timing plays a role too. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. For transfers that can wait, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. That avoids guessing, but the target may never be reached.
The payment method matters as well. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, and a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer reduces what you pay in flat fees.
About this comparison
We start from the live mid-market rate for INR/XPT. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, and work out how much XPT the recipient would end up with. In total 0 providers are included, so you can see the differences at a glance.
We update the rates every 30 minutes, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, and it can differ slightly from our calculation.
GoldexPay is independent. Some links on this page are affiliate links. They have no influence on the order: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.
Before you send: security and large amounts
Only use providers that are regulated. Look for authorisation from the FCA in the UK or the financial regulator in your own country. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Verify every detail of the recipient. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Unexpected changes to payment details are a classic warning sign. Call to confirm, using contact details you already had.
Larger transfers often come with additional questions. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, like a statement or a sales contract. Some services offer better rates or a personal contact for larger transfers. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.
How the INR/XPT precious metal price works
Precious metals are quoted per troy ounce, equal to roughly 31.1 grams. The codes XAU, XAG, XPT and XPD stand for gold, silver, platinum and palladium, so the metal behaves like one side of a currency pair. The figure above refers to one troy ounce.
The rate is based on the spot price: the market price for big bars traded between dealers. Buy a coin or small bar and you pay a premium on top, covering minting, handling and the dealer’s margin. The buyback price is normally lower than spot.
You can own precious metals in several forms. Physical metal at home needs safe storage and insurance. An allocated vault account charges an annual fee but keeps the metal in your name. Funds and certificates follow the price without you owning a bar directly.
Tax rules also differ. Across the EU, investment gold is normally VAT-free, but silver is generally taxed. We show prices, not investment advice.
Exchange rate markup and fees on INR/XPT
The majority of services stay away from the mid-market rate itself. They shift the rate in their own favour and pocket the gap. People call this the spread. A markup of 2%, for example, means that about 2 out of every 100 INR never reach the recipient.
Next to that markup, a lot of services add a visible fee. It may be a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or a mix of both. With international bank payments the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, which shrinks the amount that finally arrives.
Be wary of offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". The cost often sits in the rate instead. The only fair way to compare is how much XPT the recipient ends up with for exactly the same sum, which is how the table above is sorted.
