BTC to LTC at a glance
This overview brings together the rate for Bitcoin (BTC) and Litecoin (LTC) and sets it next to the cost of an actual conversion at a range of providers. At the latest update on October 31, 2026, one BTC is worth 1,388.72 LTC, and 1 LTC comes to 0.00072009 BTC.
The figure at the top is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It sits exactly halfway between what wholesale traders pay for BTC and what they ask for it. Think of it as a neutral benchmark: nobody earns anything on it directly, and that is why you rarely get it as a private customer.
What you actually receive is shaped by two separate costs: the gap between the provider’s rate and the mid-market rate and the fee you see on the order screen. Below the converter and chart we take those costs apart, put them side by side and give concrete ways to keep more of your money when you change BTC into LTC.
Why we compare total cost
Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. Each provider’s published fee and markup are applied on top, which gives the amount the recipient receives. We do this for 20 providers, placed side by side.
The figures refresh every half hour, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, because their rate can move between our updates.
GoldexPay is independent. We may earn a commission through some links, which help pay for the site. The order is never affected by them: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.
Before you send: security and large amounts
Check the provider’s licence first. Look for authorisation from the FCA in the UK or the financial regulator in your own country. Regulated firms have to safeguard client funds, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Check names and account details twice. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details: confirm by phone using a number you already know.
For large amounts, expect extra checks. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. Some services offer better rates or a personal contact for larger transfers. Some also let you lock in a rate for a short period.
How BTC/LTC moved over the past year
Across the last year, the price of BTC in LTC has changed by +19.50%. In that period the highest level was 1,621.78 LTC per BTC, and the low point came in at 939.2884. At 1,388.72, the rate today is easy to place within that band.
That range between high and low puts the movement into real terms. On a large conversion, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
Rates are pushed around by interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. The statistics here are historical, not a forecast. If timing matters to you, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.
What to know about BTC/LTC on crypto platforms
With crypto, the price you pay depends heavily on where you trade. On a trading platform, you deal with a spread between the highest bid and the lowest ask, on top of a maker or taker fee. Simple broker apps often show one price which hides a wider spread.
When you move crypto to or from your own wallet, you pay a network or withdrawal fee. That fee does not depend on the amount, so it weighs more on small transactions. Double-check the network before you send: coins sent over the wrong network can be lost.
Crypto prices can move sharply within minutes. Quoted prices tend to expire quickly, and big orders can fill at a worse price than shown. Use the rate here as a guide, not as a binding quote.
Think about custody as well. On a platform, someone else manages the private keys, while in your own wallet you are fully responsible for the keys. Use platforms that are registered with the regulator in your country.
Sample calculation for 0.0100 BTC
Let’s use a conversion of 0.0100 BTC. At the mid-market rate of 1,388.72, that marks the theoretical maximum of what the recipient could get. In practice nobody hands over that full amount, as costs are deducted somewhere in the process.
Looking at all 20 providers we track, Crypto.com gave the best result: the recipient gets 13.8698 LTC in the end. The gap between 13.8698 LTC and the theoretical maximum is what the conversion actually cost you.
Keep in mind that a different amount can produce a different winner. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, while the margin in the rate becomes the bigger cost on larger transfers. Enter your own amount in the converter for a ranking that fits your situation.
Getting the most LTC for your BTC
Compare the total cost, not the fee alone. A low headline fee proves nothing because the margin can make up the difference. The fairest figure to compare is how much LTC arrives for your BTC, and that already includes both margin and fee.
When you pay by card abroad, you can get a choice between your own currency and the local one. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. The rate used is usually poor. Pick the local currency and the conversion follows your card’s own terms.
Watch the timing as well. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. For transfers that can wait, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. That avoids guessing, though the target may never be reached.
Finally, look at how you pay. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, while a plain bank transfer is normally the low-cost option. Bundling smaller transfers also cuts the impact of fixed fees.
How providers price BTC to LTC
The majority of services stay away from the mid-market rate itself. They shift the rate in their own favour and keep the difference. That gap is called the markup. A markup of 2%, for example, means that you lose roughly 2 BTC on every 100 BTC, without it ever appearing as a fee.
Besides the hidden margin, most banks charge an explicit fee. This is usually a flat charge per payment, a share of what you send or both at once. With international bank payments the receiving or intermediary bank sometimes deducts a charge too, which shrinks the amount that finally arrives.
Look twice at offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". Free usually means the price is built into the exchange rate. The reliable test is how much LTC the recipient ends up with for an identical BTC amount, and the comparison table on this page is ranked on exactly that.
