Bitcoin to Mexican Peso: rate, costs and context
This page brings together the price relationship between Bitcoin (BTC) and Mexican Peso (MXN) and compares it with the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. At the latest update on October 31, 2026, 1 BTC equals 1,458,401.26 MXN, while a single MXN is worth 0.0000006857 BTC.
The figure at the top is the mid-market rate. It sits exactly halfway between what wholesale traders pay for BTC and what they ask for it. It works as a neutral benchmark: nobody earns anything on it directly, which is exactly why you rarely get it as a private customer.
What you actually receive comes down to two separate costs: the gap between the provider’s rate and the mid-market rate and the fee you see on the order screen. Further down we show how those costs are built up, put them side by side and give concrete ways to keep more of your money when converting BTC to MXN.
Converting BTC to MXN as a crypto pair
Where you convert matters a lot with crypto. On an exchange with an order book, you pay the difference between bid and ask, on top of a maker or taker fee. Easy buy buttons in apps usually quote a single price with the margin already included.
If you withdraw coins to a wallet, you pay a network or withdrawal fee. That fee does not depend on the amount, which makes small withdrawals relatively expensive. Double-check the network before you send: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.
Crypto prices can move sharply within minutes. Quoted prices tend to expire quickly, and on large orders the execution price can slip. Treat the figure above as an indication.
Custody is another point to consider. On a platform, someone else manages the private keys, whereas a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Look for registration with a financial supervisor before you deposit.
One year of BTC to MXN
Over the past twelve months, the exchange rate shows a change of -27.45%. During that year the top of the range was 2,045,173.67 MXN for one BTC, and the lowest was 1,025,872.34. Today’s rate of 1,458,401.26 is easy to place within that band.
The distance between the high and the low puts the movement into real terms. For a bigger amount, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
Rates are pushed around by interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. These figures describe the past and say nothing about what comes next. If you are waiting for a particular level, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.
Why we compare total cost
Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, which gives the amount the recipient receives. In total 1 providers are included, so you can see the differences at a glance.
The figures refresh every half hour, with October 31, 2026 as the reference date. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, and it can differ slightly from our calculation, especially when markets are busy.
No bank, app or exchange owns GoldexPay. Some links on this page are affiliate links, which help pay for the site. They have no influence on the order: the provider that delivers the most MXN comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.
Before you send: security and large amounts
Check the provider’s licence first. Look for authorisation from the FCA in the UK or the financial regulator in your own country. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Double-check the recipient details before you confirm. An international payment is hard to reverse once it is sent. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details. Verify through a channel you trust.
For large amounts, expect extra checks. You may need to show proof of the source of funds, like a statement or a sales contract. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.
What banks and apps really charge for BTC to MXN
Most providers do not convert at the mid-market rate itself. Instead they offer a rate that is a little less favourable and pocket the gap. That gap is called the markup. A markup of 2%, for example, means that for every 100 BTC you convert, about 2 BTC worth disappears before the money arrives.
Besides the hidden margin, most banks charge an explicit fee. It may be a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or both at once. On classic bank transfers abroad other banks along the route may take their own cut, so the recipient gets less than you expected.
Be wary of services that advertise free transfers. In many cases the margin in the rate simply does the work of the fee. The reliable test is the total amount that arrives in MXN for exactly the same sum, and that is the figure our table ranks on.
Sample calculation for 0.0100 BTC
Consider an amount of 0.0100 BTC. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (1,458,401.26), you can work out the upper limit of what any provider could deliver in MXN. In reality every provider keeps something, since the margin and fees are taken out along the way.
Looking at all 1 providers we track, Revolut delivered the most, with 14,366.71 MXN in the end. Whatever is missing compared with the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.
Note that the cheapest provider for 0.0100 BTC is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, whereas the margin in the rate becomes the bigger cost on larger transfers. Enter your own amount in the converter and check whether the order changes.
Practical ways to save on BTC/MXN
Compare the total cost, not the fee alone. A small fee on its own says little if the rate is poor. The fairest figure to compare is the MXN amount after every cost, and that already includes both margin and fee.
If you pay or withdraw cash in a MXN country, you may be asked whether to pay in BTC or in the local currency. This is called dynamic currency conversion. It tends to be among the most expensive ways to convert. Choose the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.
Watch the timing as well. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. For transfers that can wait, you can set a target rate and let the provider convert only when it is reached. That avoids guessing, though the target may never be reached.
Also check how you fund the transfer. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, and a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Bundling smaller transfers means fixed charges hit you fewer times.
