The CNY/USDC exchange rate explained
This page brings together the rate for Chinese Yuan (CNY) and USD Coin (USDC) and sets it next to the cost of an actual conversion at a range of providers. At the latest update on October 31, 2026, 1 CNY equals 0.150248 USDC, while 1 USDC equals 6.6557 CNY.
The rate shown above is the mid-market rate. It is calculated as the middle of the buying and selling prices on the wholesale market. Treat it as the cleanest reference you can get: it contains no profit margin and no fees, which is exactly why consumers almost never receive it in full.
What you actually receive comes down to two separate costs: the margin a provider adds to that rate and any fixed or percentage fee. Further down we show how those costs are built up, show how they add up on a real amount and list practical steps to lose less on the exchange when you swap Chinese Yuan for USD Coin.
Practical ways to save on CNY/USDC
Compare the total cost, not the fee alone. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive when the margin is high. The fairest figure to compare is the USDC amount after every cost, and that already includes both margin and fee.
When you pay by card abroad, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. This is called dynamic currency conversion. The rate used is usually poor. Choose the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.
Watch the timing as well. Rates quoted on a Saturday or Sunday can include a weekend surcharge. For transfers that can wait, an alert tells you when the rate hits a level you are happy with. That avoids guessing, though there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
Finally, look at how you pay. Paying by credit card can trigger extra charges, and funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Sending less often but in larger amounts means fixed charges hit you fewer times.
How GoldexPay compares CNY to USDC providers
Our starting point is the current mid-market rate. Each provider’s published fee and markup are applied on top, and work out how much USDC the recipient would end up with. We do this for 1 providers, ranked from most to least received.
We update the rates every 30 minutes, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, and it can differ slightly from our calculation, especially when markets are busy.
We are not owned by any provider. Some links on this page are affiliate links, which help fund our work. They have no influence on the order: providers are sorted purely by how much USDC the recipient gets.
How providers price CNY to USDC
Nearly every bank and app do not convert at the rate of 0.150248 as such. They offer a rate that is a little less favourable and earn on the difference. That gap is called the markup. If the margin is 2%, then about 2 out of every 100 CNY never reach the recipient.
Besides the hidden margin, a lot of services ask for a separate fee. That can be a flat charge per payment, a percentage of the amount or both at once. With international bank payments other banks along the route may take their own cut, and those only show up at the end.
Look twice at offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". The cost often sits in the rate instead. The reliable test is how much USDC the recipient ends up with for the same amount of CNY, and the comparison table on this page is ranked on exactly that.
Example: converting 5,000.00 CNY
Let’s use an amount of 5,000.00 CNY. At the mid-market rate of 0.150248, that marks the theoretical maximum of what the recipient could get. No service pays out that exact figure, since the margin and fees are taken out along the way.
Across the 1 providers in our comparison, Revolut came out cheapest for this amount: the recipient gets 740.05 USDC in the end. Whatever is missing compared with the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.
Bear in mind that rankings shift with the amount you send. Fixed fees weigh heavily on small sums, while the margin in the rate becomes the bigger cost on larger transfers. Run your own figure through the converter to see the ranking that applies to you.
Crypto spreads, network fees and custody
Crypto prices differ from platform to platform. On an exchange with an order book, you deal with a spread between the highest bid and the lowest ask, plus a trading fee. Simple broker apps often show one price which hides a wider spread.
Withdrawing crypto from a platform, there is a separate network charge. That fee does not depend on the amount, which makes small withdrawals relatively expensive. Double-check the network before you send: mistakes here are rarely reversible.
Volatility is much higher than with regular currencies. A quote is often only valid for a short moment, while large trades risk slippage. Use the rate here as a guide, not as a binding quote.
Also decide who holds the keys. On a platform, someone else manages the private keys, while in your own wallet you are fully responsible for the keys. Look for registration with a financial supervisor before you deposit.
Before you send: security and large amounts
Make sure the provider is licensed. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own, which protects you if something goes wrong.
Double-check the recipient details before you confirm. An international payment is hard to reverse once it is sent. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details: confirm by phone using a number you already know.
Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, such as a payslip, sale agreement or bank statement. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.
Chinese Yuan against USD Coin: the last twelve months
Over the past twelve months, the exchange rate has changed by +6.89%. In that period the highest level was 0.150261 USDC per CNY, while the bottom of the range was 0.140360. Today’s rate of 0.150248 sits somewhere inside that range.
That range between high and low shows how much the rate can move in practice. For a bigger amount, the moment you choose can make a noticeable difference to what arrives, even when the fee stays the same.
Rates are pushed around by central bank policy, economic data and shifts in risk appetite. These figures describe the past and say nothing about what comes next. If you want to act on a certain rate, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.
