ETH to LTC: what you are looking at
This overview brings together the exchange rate between Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC) and compares it with the cost of an actual conversion at a range of providers. On October 31, 2026, 1 ETH equals 40.5458 LTC, and one LTC comes to 0.024663 ETH.
That headline number is the mid-market rate. It sits exactly halfway between the buying and selling prices on the wholesale market. Think of it as a neutral benchmark: no fee or margin is built in, and that is why you rarely get it as a private customer.
What you actually receive is shaped by two things: a markup hidden in the exchange rate and the visible transfer or service fee. In the sections below we explain how those costs work, show how they add up on a real amount and share simple habits to keep more of your money when you change ETH into LTC.
Crypto spreads, network fees and custody
With crypto, the price you pay depends heavily on where you trade. On a trading platform, there is a gap between the buy and sell price, the spread, plus a trading fee. Simple broker apps often show one price that has the cost baked in.
When you move crypto to or from your own wallet, there is a separate network charge. That fee does not depend on the amount, which makes small withdrawals relatively expensive. Double-check the network before you send: mistakes here are rarely reversible.
Crypto prices can move sharply within minutes. A displayed price may be fixed only for a few seconds, and on large orders the execution price can slip. Use the rate here as a guide, not as a binding quote.
Also decide who holds the keys. If you leave crypto on a platform, the platform controls it, while a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Look for registration with a financial supervisor before you deposit.
Example: converting 0.5000 ETH
Let’s use an amount of 0.5000 ETH. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (40.5458), you can work out the upper limit of what is possible on the LTC side. In reality every provider keeps something, since the margin and fees are taken out along the way.
Looking at all 20 providers we track, Crypto.com delivered the most, with 20.2475 LTC at the time of our last update. The difference between that figure and the mid-market amount shows the true cost, fees and margin combined.
Bear in mind that the cheapest provider for 0.5000 ETH is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. A flat fee hurts most when the amount is small, while the margin in the rate becomes the bigger cost on larger transfers. Try your actual amount in the calculator above for a ranking that fits your situation.
Before you send: security and large amounts
Check the provider’s licence first. Look for authorisation from the FCA in the UK or the financial regulator in your own country. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own and that offers protection if the company fails.
Check names and account details twice. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details. Verify through a channel you trust.
Larger transfers often come with additional questions. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. For big amounts it can pay to ask for a better rate. Some also let you lock in a rate for a short period.
Where the cost of converting ETH to LTC hides
Most providers stay away from the mid-market rate as such. They quote a slightly worse rate and keep the difference. This is known as the markup. A markup of 2%, for example, means that you lose roughly 2 ETH on every 100 ETH, without it ever appearing as a fee.
Next to that markup, many providers ask for a separate fee. That can be a fixed amount per transfer, a percentage of the amount or both at once. On classic bank transfers abroad extra deductions can follow, which shrinks the amount that finally arrives.
Look twice at offers that say "no fees" or "0% commission". Free usually means the price is built into the exchange rate. The only fair way to compare is how much LTC the recipient ends up with for the same amount of ETH, and that is the figure our table ranks on.
How our ETH/LTC comparison works
Every calculation begins with the mid-market rate of 40.5458. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, to calculate what actually arrives in LTC. We do this for 20 providers, placed side by side.
We update the rates every 30 minutes, so the page reflects the market of October 31, 2026. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, since markets keep moving.
GoldexPay is independent. Some of the links are affiliate links, which help fund our work. They have no influence on the order: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.
Tips for converting ETH to LTC
Compare the total cost, not the fee alone. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive if the rate is poor. What you want to know is the LTC amount after every cost, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.
At foreign tills and cash machines, you may be asked whether to pay in ETH or in the local currency. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. It usually comes with a steep markup. Always opt to pay in the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.
Timing can also matter. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. When there is no deadline, a rate alert or limit order lets you convert automatically once ETH/LTC reaches a level you choose. That avoids guessing, though there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
The payment method matters as well. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, while funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer means fixed charges hit you fewer times.
The ETH/LTC rate over twelve months
Over the past twelve months, the price of ETH in LTC shows a change of -0.51%. During that year the top of the range was 50.8298 LTC for one ETH, while the low point came in at 31.2147. At 40.5458, the rate today can be measured against those two levels.
The spread between the year’s extremes shows how much the rate can move in practice. On a large conversion, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
The rate reflects news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If timing matters to you, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.
