Bitget versus Revolut
Picking Bitget or Revolut comes down to more than the brand name. What matters is how much of your money arrives once every fee and the exchange rate are added up. This page puts a number on that.
In our database, Bitget belongs to the crypto exchange category and works with Currencies, Cryptocurrencies, while Revolut sits in broker and covers Currencies, Cryptocurrencies, Precious metals. That alone tells you a fair bit about which jobs each one is built for.
Under the calculator and the scenario table we explain how we work out the cost, where each provider tends to do well and how to combine the two. Because the rates are live, the outcome can shift during the day.
Why the amount can change the winner
The cheapest choice for a small amount is not always the cheapest for a large one. On small sums the fixed part of the price dominates, on large sums the percentage does. That is why the scenario table shows several amounts, not just one.
If you move larger sums regularly, check whether tiered pricing applies, something our standard scenarios do not always capture. With Bitget or Revolut, check the current terms before you move a significant sum.
The fee is only half the story
Plenty of services advertise a zero fee. Often the cost simply moves into the exchange rate, where it is harder to spot. A margin of a fraction of a percent sounds small, but it grows with every amount you convert.
For this reason our comparison combines the fee and the rate margin into one number. One provider may charge a clear fee with a tight rate, another may skip the fee and widen the rate. What counts is what lands in the account at the end.
Other costs can matter too: withdrawal and network fees, card costs and fees at intermediary banks. We include what is published, but it pays to double-check before a large transaction.
The right choice depends on what you do
For travel spending, compare what a card payment in a foreign currency costs at each. Holding a balance in the local currency avoids converting at every purchase.
To send money to a bank account abroad, the total cost per transfer and the delivery time are what count. With bigger sums, ask about limits and extra checks before you start.
For buying digital assets, you need a platform that actually supports crypto, and you should compare spreads and withdrawal costs. Businesses should look at business accounts and batch payments, which not every provider offers. This page compares cost, not suitability as an investment.
Safety checks before you sign up
Price matters, but so does knowing your money is handled properly. Look for a licence or registration with a financial regulator in your country or region. The supervisor’s public register lets you check this yourself.
For money services, the key word is safeguarding: your balance should be held apart from the firm’s own money. Safeguarding is not the same as a deposit guarantee, so a transfer app is no replacement for a savings account.
With crypto platforms, look a little further: ask about registration, custody and withdrawal options. In all cases, enable two-factor authentication (2FA) from day one.
A money service and a crypto exchange
This is a comparison across categories: crypto exchange and broker. There is some overlap, but not much. We can only compare the conversions both of them offer.
A money service focuses on paying, spending and sending in regular currencies. An exchange is first of all a place to trade crypto, with euros or dollars mainly used to get in and out. That difference matters more than a few cents on one conversion.
If you only want to change currency or send money abroad, the money service is usually the more natural choice. For crypto, look at the exchange first and treat its currency features as a bonus.
Verdict: Bitget wins on cost
For 4 out of 4 scenarios we can test on both sides, Bitget came out cheaper once fees and exchange rate were counted. On price alone, that makes Bitget the default pick.
This does not rule out Revolut. Scroll back to the table to find which conversions Revolut still wins, and if your own transfer matches one of those rows, Revolut is simply the cheaper option for you.
Cost is one thing, not everything. Speed, limits and the way you pay in can tip the balance toward Revolut. On a modest amount, a small price gap is often worth less than that convenience.
Speed: Bitget vs Revolut
The fastest delivery we have on record for Bitget is Instant; for Revolut it is Instant. These are best cases, not guarantees. A first transfer often takes longer because of identity checks.
How you fund a transfer makes a big difference. Faster funding options can come with a higher fee, so check the total in the calculator. Only pay for speed when you actually need it.
Beyond raw speed, think about convenience: clear status updates and an app you like save time and stress. Try the app before you move a large amount.
Why not use both?
You do not have to pick just one. A second account gives you a backup and an easy price check. Expect to verify your identity with each provider separately.
For anything above everyday amounts, compare live quotes here first, since rates move and the cheaper side can flip. It is a quick check that pays off.
When you move away from one provider, withdraw or spend your remaining balance first and download your statements for your records.
How the numbers are worked out
The cost of a conversion has two parts: a fee and an exchange-rate margin. As a benchmark we use the live mid-market rate, the rate banks and large traders use among themselves. That gap is the margin, which we add to the fee to get the total cost.
We run this for several sample amounts, from small to large, because fixed fees and percentage fees behave differently. Exchange rates are refreshed every 30 minutes; fees are taken from the published fee schedules. Promotions, account tiers and personal discounts are not always included, so your own offer may differ.
This comparison is independent. We may earn a commission through some links; that never affects which provider comes out cheaper. If a provider we earn nothing from is cheaper, it still comes out on top.
