Ethereum to USD Coin: what you are looking at
This overview follows the price relationship between Ethereum (ETH) and USD Coin (USDC) and compares it with what real providers charge to convert one into the other. At the latest update on October 31, 2026, 1 ETH buys 2,243.21 USDC, while one USDC equals 0.00044579 ETH.
The rate shown above is the interbank mid rate. It sits exactly halfway between what wholesale traders pay for ETH and what they ask for it. Treat it as a neutral benchmark: no fee or margin is built in, and that is why you rarely get it as a private customer.
The amount that lands in the other account comes down to two separate costs: the margin a provider adds to that rate and the visible transfer or service fee. In the sections below we explain how those costs work, put them side by side and give concrete ways to get closer to the mid-market rate when you change ETH into USDC.
Ethereum against USD Coin: the last twelve months
Compared with a year ago, the ETH/USDC rate shows a change of -41.00%. During that year the rate peaked at 3,906.51 USDC for one ETH, and the lowest was 1,567.16. Today’s rate of 2,243.21 can be measured against those two levels.
The distance between the high and the low is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. When you convert a substantial sum, the moment you choose can make a noticeable difference to what arrives, occasionally more than the difference between providers.
Rates are pushed around by news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If timing matters to you, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.
A worked example with 0.5000 ETH
Let’s use a conversion of 0.5000 ETH. Using the reference rate of 2,243.21, that sum sets the ceiling for what the recipient could get. No service pays out that exact figure, since the margin and fees are taken out along the way.
Across the 20 providers in our comparison, Crypto.com delivered the most, with 1,120.21 USDC in the end. The difference between that figure and the mid-market amount is the real price of the transfer.
Note that a different amount can produce a different winner. A flat fee hurts most when the amount is small, while the margin in the rate becomes the bigger cost on larger transfers. Enter your own amount in the converter and check whether the order changes.
Why we compare total cost
We start from the live mid-market rate for ETH/USDC. Each provider’s published fee and markup are applied on top, and work out how much USDC the recipient would end up with. In total 20 providers are included, ranked from most to least received.
We update the rates every 30 minutes, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. The final price is always set by the provider itself, since markets keep moving.
No bank, app or exchange owns GoldexPay. Some of the links are affiliate links, which help pay for the site. The order is never affected by them: the only ranking criterion is the amount received.
Buying or selling crypto: ETH to USDC
Crypto prices differ from platform to platform. On a trading platform, there is a gap between the buy and sell price, the spread, on top of a maker or taker fee. Simple broker apps often show one price which hides a wider spread.
When you move crypto to or from your own wallet, a network fee applies. That fee does not depend on the amount, which makes small withdrawals relatively expensive. Double-check the network before you send: mistakes here are rarely reversible.
The price of a crypto asset can swing hard in a short time. Quoted prices tend to expire quickly, and on large orders the execution price can slip. Treat the figure above as an indication.
Also decide who holds the keys. Coins kept on an exchange are held by that exchange, while a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Look for registration with a financial supervisor before you deposit.
Mid-market rate versus the rate you get
The majority of services will not give you the mid-market rate itself. They quote a slightly worse rate and earn on the difference. This is known as the exchange rate margin. If the margin is 2%, then for every 100 ETH you convert, about 2 ETH worth disappears before the money arrives.
Next to that markup, many providers add a visible fee. That can be a fixed amount per transfer, a percentage of the amount or a mix of both. On classic bank transfers abroad other banks along the route may take their own cut, and those only show up at the end.
Look twice at anything sold as commission-free. The cost often sits in the rate instead. The only fair way to compare is the final USDC figure for exactly the same sum, and the comparison table on this page is ranked on exactly that.
Safety checks before you convert ETH to USDC
Check the provider’s licence first. A regulated provider is registered with a supervisor such as the FCA or your national central bank. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own.
Check names and account details twice. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details. Verify through a channel you trust.
Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Have documents ready that show where the money came from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.
Practical ways to save on ETH/USDC
Look at the final amount, not just the fee. A small fee on its own says little when the margin is high. The fairest figure to compare is the amount received, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.
At foreign tills and cash machines, you can get a choice between your own currency and the local one. That option is known as dynamic currency conversion, or DCC. The rate used is usually poor. Always opt to pay in the local currency and the conversion follows your card’s own terms.
Timing can also matter. Rates quoted on a Saturday or Sunday can include a weekend surcharge. When there is no deadline, you can set a target rate and let the provider convert only when it is reached. It takes the guesswork out, though there is no guarantee the rate will get there.
Also check how you fund the transfer. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, and funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Bundling smaller transfers means fixed charges hit you fewer times.
