The USDC/ETH exchange rate: rate, costs and context
The page you are reading brings together the price relationship between USD Coin (USDC) and Ethereum (ETH), together with the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. At the latest update on October 30, 2026, one USDC is worth 0.00044795 ETH, and one ETH comes to 2,232.38 USDC.
The rate shown above is the mid-market rate, sometimes called the interbank rate. It is the midpoint between the buying and selling prices on the wholesale market. It works as a neutral benchmark: it contains no profit margin and no fees, which is exactly why few consumer services pass it on unchanged.
The amount that lands in the other account depends on two separate costs: the gap between the provider’s rate and the mid-market rate and any fixed or percentage fee. Further down we explain how those costs work, look at what a conversion costs in practice and list practical steps to get closer to the mid-market rate when you swap USD Coin for Ethereum.
The USDC/ETH rate over twelve months
Across the last year, the USDC/ETH rate moved by +74.84%. Within those twelve months the top of the range was 0.00063810 ETH per USDC, and the lowest was 0.00025598. The current 0.00044795 sits somewhere inside that range.
That range between high and low puts the movement into real terms. On a large conversion, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, sometimes more than the choice of provider.
The rate reflects news, economic data and supply and demand on the market. We show the figures as they are and do not make predictions. If you are waiting for a particular level, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.
Getting the most ETH for your USDC
Judge on what arrives, not on what is advertised. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive because the margin can make up the difference. The number that matters is how much ETH arrives for your USDC, which combines the markup and the fee.
If you pay or withdraw cash in a ETH country, a terminal may offer to charge you in your home currency. The trade name for this is dynamic currency conversion. It tends to be among the most expensive ways to convert. Choose the local currency so your bank or card issuer handles the exchange.
Watch the timing as well. Some providers widen their margin at weekends, when currency markets are closed. When there is no deadline, you can set a target rate and let the provider convert only when it is reached. That avoids guessing, but the target may never be reached.
Finally, look at how you pay. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, and funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Bundling smaller transfers means fixed charges hit you fewer times.
1,000.00 USDC to ETH, step by step
Let’s use an amount of 1,000.00 USDC. Converted at the pure mid-market rate (0.00044795), you can work out the upper limit of what is possible on the ETH side. No service pays out that exact figure, since the margin and fees are taken out along the way.
Of the 20 providers we compared, Crypto.com came out cheapest for this amount, with 0.4474 ETH in the end. Whatever is missing compared with the mid-market amount is what the conversion actually cost you.
Note that the cheapest provider for 1,000.00 USDC is not automatically the cheapest for every amount. A flat fee hurts most when the amount is small, whereas a percentage margin grows along with the amount. Try your actual amount in the calculator above and check whether the order changes.
Mid-market rate versus the rate you get
Nearly every bank and app will not give you the mid-market rate as such. They offer a rate that is a little less favourable and keep the difference. That gap is called the markup. With a 2% markup, for instance, for every 100 USDC you convert, about 2 USDC worth disappears before the money arrives.
On top of the margin, a lot of services ask for a separate fee. That can be a fixed amount per transfer, a share of what you send or both at once. For transfers sent through the banking network other banks along the route may take their own cut, so the recipient gets less than you expected.
Be wary of services that advertise free transfers. In many cases the margin in the rate simply does the work of the fee. The reliable test is the total amount that arrives in ETH for exactly the same sum, and that is the figure our table ranks on.
Staying safe with bigger USDC to ETH transfers
Make sure the provider is licensed. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own and that offers protection if the company fails.
Double-check the recipient details before you confirm. An international payment is hard to reverse once it is sent. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details: confirm by phone using a number you already know.
Larger transfers often come with additional questions. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, like a statement or a sales contract. Some providers lower their margin on request for larger customers. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.
Crypto spreads, network fees and custody
With crypto, the price you pay depends heavily on where you trade. On a trading platform, you pay the difference between bid and ask, on top of a maker or taker fee. Simple broker apps often show one price which hides a wider spread.
Withdrawing crypto from a platform, a network fee applies. That fee does not depend on the amount, which makes small withdrawals relatively expensive. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: a mismatch can mean the funds never arrive.
Crypto prices can move sharply within minutes. A displayed price may be fixed only for a few seconds, while large trades risk slippage. The rate on this page is a reference point, not a guaranteed price.
Also decide who holds the keys. Coins kept on an exchange are held by that exchange, whereas self-custody means you alone can access, or lose, the funds. Look for registration with a financial supervisor before you deposit.
About this comparison
Every calculation begins with the mid-market rate of 0.00044795. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, which gives the amount the recipient receives. In total 20 providers are included, so you can see the differences at a glance.
The figures refresh every half hour, so the page reflects the market of October 30, 2026. Always check the final quote in the provider’s app or website, and it can differ slightly from our calculation.
GoldexPay is independent. Some of the links are affiliate links, which help fund our work. They have no influence on the order: providers are sorted purely by how much ETH the recipient gets.
