ETH to XPT: what you are looking at

The page you are reading tracks the rate for Ethereum (ETH) and Platinum (XPT), together with the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. At the latest update on October 31, 2026, one ETH is worth 1.5640 XPT, while 1 XPT is worth 0.639378 ETH.

The figure at the top is the mid-market rate. It is calculated as the middle of what wholesale traders pay for ETH and what they ask for it. It works as a neutral benchmark: it contains no profit margin and no fees, so consumers almost never receive it in full.

What you actually receive is shaped by two separate costs: the margin a provider adds to that rate and the visible transfer or service fee. Below the converter and chart we explain how those costs work, put them side by side and give concrete ways to lose less on the exchange when you change ETH into XPT.

How the ETH/XPT precious metal price works

The standard unit for metals is the troy ounce, which is about 31.1 grams. The codes XAU, XAG, XPT and XPD stand for gold, silver, platinum and palladium, so the metal behaves like one side of a currency pair. The rate shown is the price of one troy ounce.

What you see is the spot price: the price professionals pay for large quantities. Retail products carry a premium above that price, to pay for production, distribution and the seller’s margin. Selling back typically happens below the spot price.

Ownership comes in more than one shape. Physical metal at home needs safe storage and insurance. Professional storage costs a yearly fee, with the metal registered to you. Funds and certificates follow the price without you owning a bar directly.

Tax rules also differ. Within the EU investment gold usually carries no VAT, unlike most silver. We show prices, not investment advice.

Tips for converting ETH to XPT

Look at the final amount, not just the fee. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive because the margin can make up the difference. The number that matters is the XPT amount after every cost, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.

At foreign tills and cash machines, you can get a choice between your own currency and the local one. This is called dynamic currency conversion. It tends to be among the most expensive ways to convert. Pick the local currency and the conversion follows your card’s own terms.

Watch the timing as well. At weekends, with the wholesale market shut, some services add an extra buffer to the rate. For transfers that can wait, you can set a target rate and let the provider convert only when it is reached. It takes the guesswork out, but there is no guarantee the rate will get there.

Finally, look at how you pay. A credit card may be treated as a cash advance by your card issuer, and a regular bank transfer to the provider is usually the cheapest way in. Sending less often but in larger amounts reduces what you pay in flat fees.

Staying safe with bigger ETH to XPT transfers

Make sure the provider is licensed. In the UK that means authorisation by the FCA, elsewhere a central bank or financial supervisor. Licensed payment firms must keep customer money separate from their own and that offers protection if the company fails.

Double-check the recipient details before you confirm. Once money has left, getting it back is difficult. Watch out for pressure, urgency or a last-minute change of account details: confirm by phone using a number you already know.

Big sums usually trigger extra verification. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, for example a contract of sale or an account statement. Some services offer better rates or a personal contact for larger transfers. Ask whether you can fix the rate in advance.

Mid-market rate versus the rate you get

Most providers do not convert at the mid-market rate itself. Instead they offer a rate that is a little less favourable and pocket the gap. This is known as the exchange rate margin. A markup of 2%, for example, means that about 2 out of every 100 ETH never reach the recipient.

Next to that markup, a lot of services add a visible fee. It may be a fixed amount per transfer, a share of what you send or both at once. With international bank payments other banks along the route may take their own cut, and those only show up at the end.

Look twice at anything sold as commission-free. In many cases the margin in the rate simply does the work of the fee. The reliable test is the total amount that arrives in XPT for the same amount of ETH, which is how the table above is sorted.

Converting ETH to XPT as a crypto pair

Crypto prices differ from platform to platform. On an exchange with an order book, there is a gap between the buy and sell price, the spread, and a commission per trade. Easy buy buttons in apps usually quote a single price with the margin already included.

Withdrawing crypto from a platform, a network fee applies. It is unrelated to how much you move, so it weighs more on small transactions. Make sure the sending and receiving side use the same network: mistakes here are rarely reversible.

Volatility is much higher than with regular currencies. A quote is often only valid for a short moment, and big orders can fill at a worse price than shown. Use the rate here as a guide, not as a binding quote.

Think about custody as well. If you leave crypto on a platform, the platform controls it, whereas a personal wallet puts the responsibility, and the risk of losing access, on you. Look for registration with a financial supervisor before you deposit.

Recent movement in the ETH/XPT rate

Compared with a year ago, the ETH/XPT rate moved by +53.48%. In that period the rate peaked at 1.6501 XPT for one ETH, while the bottom of the range was 0.820739. Today’s rate of 1.5640 sits somewhere inside that range.

That range between high and low is a useful reminder of how far the rate can travel. When you convert a substantial sum, the moment of conversion matters in actual money, occasionally more than the difference between providers.

Rates are pushed around by interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. The statistics here are historical, not a forecast. If you want to act on a certain rate, it is more practical to set an alert than to guess.

How GoldexPay compares ETH to XPT providers

We start from the live mid-market rate for ETH/XPT. For each provider we apply its published fees and the margin it adds to the rate, and work out how much XPT the recipient would end up with. The comparison covers 0 providers, so you can see the differences at a glance.

Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, because their rate can move between our updates.

We are not owned by any provider. We may earn a commission through some links. That never changes the ranking: providers are sorted purely by how much XPT the recipient gets.
