XPT to ETH at a glance

This overview follows the price relationship between Platinum (XPT) and Ethereum (ETH) and compares it with the prices that banks, money apps and exchanges actually ask. At the latest update on October 30, 2026, one XPT is worth 0.642228 ETH, and 1 ETH comes to 1.5571 XPT.

The rate shown above is the interbank mid rate. It is calculated as the middle of the price at which large banks buy XPT and the price at which they sell it. It works as a neutral benchmark: it contains no profit margin and no fees, and that is why few consumer services pass it on unchanged.

What you actually receive comes down to two separate costs: a markup hidden in the exchange rate and any fixed or percentage fee. In the sections below we explain how those costs work, put them side by side and share simple habits to get closer to the mid-market rate when converting XPT to ETH.

Exchange rate markup and fees on XPT/ETH

The majority of services stay away from the rate of 0.642228 itself. They shift the rate in their own favour and earn on the difference. This is known as the spread. If the margin is 2%, then you lose roughly 2 XPT on every 100 XPT, without it ever appearing as a fee.

On top of the margin, most banks ask for a separate fee. That can be a fixed amount per transfer, a share of what you send or a mix of both. For transfers sent through the banking network other banks along the route may take their own cut, which shrinks the amount that finally arrives.

Take a close look at anything sold as commission-free. In many cases the margin in the rate simply does the work of the fee. The only fair way to compare is how much ETH the recipient ends up with for an identical XPT amount, which is how the table above is sorted.

Troy ounces, spot price and premiums

Precious metals are quoted per troy ounce, equal to roughly 31.1 grams. In currency notation, gold is XAU, silver XAG, platinum XPT and palladium XPD, and they are treated like a currency in this pair. The figure above refers to one troy ounce.

That figure is the spot price: the wholesale price for immediate delivery of large bars. Buy a coin or small bar and you pay a premium on top, to pay for production, distribution and the seller’s margin. The buyback price is normally lower than spot.

There are different ways to hold metal. Physical metal at home needs safe storage and insurance. Professional storage costs a yearly fee, with the metal registered to you. Paper products track the price but do not always give you physical metal.

Check how tax applies as well. In the EU, investment gold is generally exempt from VAT, while silver usually is not. We show prices, not investment advice.

Before you send: security and large amounts

Make sure the provider is licensed. Look for authorisation from the FCA in the UK or the financial regulator in your own country. Regulation includes rules on keeping your money apart from the company’s own.

Double-check the recipient details before you confirm. Mistakes are rarely fixed quickly with transfers abroad. Be suspicious if someone urges you to pay quickly or suddenly changes bank details: confirm by phone using a number you already know.

For large amounts, expect extra checks. Providers may ask for proof of where the money comes from, like a statement or a sales contract. For big amounts it can pay to ask for a better rate. A rate lock, where offered, removes uncertainty while the money is on its way.

How to get a better XPT to ETH rate

Compare the total cost, not the fee alone. A provider with a low fee can still be expensive when the margin is high. The number that matters is how much ETH arrives for your XPT, and that already includes both the markup and the fee.

If you pay or withdraw cash in a ETH country, you can get a choice between your own currency and the local one. This is called dynamic currency conversion. The rate used is usually poor. Always opt to pay in the local currency and let your own card provider do the conversion.

Timing plays a role too. Rates quoted on a Saturday or Sunday can include a weekend surcharge. For transfers that can wait, a rate alert or limit order lets you convert automatically once XPT/ETH reaches a level you choose. It saves you from checking the rate every day, but the target may never be reached.

Finally, look at how you pay. Card payments often cost more than a bank transfer, and funding by bank transfer tends to keep costs down. Combining several small payments into one larger transfer means fixed charges hit you fewer times.

How our XPT/ETH comparison works

We start from the live mid-market rate for XPT/ETH. We then apply each provider’s published fees and exchange rate margin, which gives the amount the recipient receives. In total 0 providers are included, placed side by side.

Rates are refreshed every 30 minutes, and the date on the page shows when the data was last updated. Providers confirm their own price at checkout, and it can differ slightly from our calculation, especially when markets are busy.

GoldexPay is independent. We may earn a commission through some links. The order is never affected by them: the provider that delivers the most ETH comes first, whether or not we have a link to it.

Buying or selling crypto: XPT to ETH

With crypto, the price you pay depends heavily on where you trade. On an exchange with an order book, there is a gap between the buy and sell price, the spread, on top of a maker or taker fee. Simple broker apps often show one price which hides a wider spread.

Withdrawing crypto from a platform, a network fee applies. It is unrelated to how much you move, so for small amounts it can be a large share. Always check which network a platform uses: mistakes here are rarely reversible.

Volatility is much higher than with regular currencies. Quoted prices tend to expire quickly, and on large orders the execution price can slip. The rate on this page is a reference point, not a guaranteed price.

Custody is another point to consider. If you leave crypto on a platform, the platform controls it, while in your own wallet you are fully responsible for the keys. Look for registration with a financial supervisor before you deposit.

The XPT/ETH rate over twelve months

Over the past twelve months, the XPT/ETH rate shows a change of -34.55%. Within those twelve months the highest level was 1.2184 ETH for one XPT, and the low point came in at 0.606015. At 0.642228, the rate today is easy to place within that band.

The spread between the year’s extremes puts the movement into real terms. For a bigger amount, timing has a visible effect on the outcome, even when the fee stays the same.

Exchange rates respond to interest rate decisions, inflation figures, trade flows and general market sentiment. These figures describe the past and say nothing about what comes next. If you want to act on a certain rate, use an alert or limit order rather than a hunch.
